Mayors in approximately 100 cities have estimated that investing in #publictransport could create 4.6 million #jobs by 2030. In addition, public transport reduces greenhouse gas emissions and local air pollution. It also provides equal access to #employment and services, fostering #social cohesion and reducing isolation. It ensures that everyone, regardless of income or location, can access essential services and opportunities. Regarding #economicreturns, every $1 invested in public transport, there is the potential to generate $5. #UITP #Sustainabletransport #MobilityGain

The results are in - today the 5th National Climate Assessment report was released! 🌎 The report found that expensive and deadly extreme weather events are on the rise, posing disproportionate risks to underserved and overburdened communities. But findings also revealed that climate action works - emissions continue to decrease since their peak in 2007.
