As we observe the 80th Anniversary of D-Day, let us pause to reflect on the monumental courage and sacrifice displayed by those who stormed the beaches of Normandy 6 June 1944. Their bravery and determination, in the face of overwhelming odds, changed the course of history and paved the way for the liberation of Europe from tyranny. It is a moment that fills us with profound pride in the resilience and fortitude of our veterans, whose unwavering commitment to freedom and justice knows no bounds. Observing this significant milestone is not just about looking back at the past; it's about honoring the enduring legacy of those who fought and fell for our freedoms. It's a reminder to cherish the values of courage, unity, and sacrifice that bind us together as a nation. Let us never forget the valor of those who gave everything on that fateful day, and let us pledge to carry their memory forward with gratitude and reverence.
Never forget their sacrifice and the example they set for the rest of us.
God Bless our troops both present and past.

1moIt's the anniversary of Operation Overlord......NOT D-Day. In American military lingo, the term 'D-Day' refers to the planned date of an invasion or operation....not a particular one. 'D-Day' for Operation Torch was November 8th, 1942 (invasion of North Africa) which is different than the D-Day for Operation Husky......which is different than the D-Day for Operation Anvil. There were dozens of D-Days during WW II.
