📺 #Pay-TV operators are increasingly embracing aggregator or super-aggregator strategies, and this has driven a big fall in pay-TV-only households. 📺In 2015, 81.7% of households that paid for a TV or video service took pay-TV in isolation. By 2028 that percentage will have dropped to 27.1%. Most homes now take Pay TV and online services. 📺 While there are now significantly more online video subscribers in the world than pay TV (1.53bn vs. 1.07bn), in terms of subscription revenue, pay TV still remains some way ahead, generating $193bn annually, compared with $104bn for online video. Snippet of a recent conversation with Matt Hill from Thinkbox about TV Sponsorship and how it's not a 'performance' tool but rather a brand building exercise and it needs other mechanisms to activate it. This connects the dots with recent work we have done with ITV around measuring the indirect effect of TV sponsorships which got good coverage and you can read about that here - https://lnkd.in/eYtSjzNG. It's another example of something unique to #SingleSourceData, the holy grail of consumer data. At an individual level it's a 360 lens across all touch points; TV viewing, ad exposure, mobile behaviour, location and supermarket shopping data. We have scaled this data to 9,500 individual UK consumers and this data is collected passively.
