Day 2 of Vimp brought a burst of energy to the proceedings. Our mentor, Dr. Henrietta Onwuegbuizie, commenced the day by delving into the essentials of entrepreneurship. Here are the key takeaways: 1. Entrepreneurs are driven by their passion to make a meaningful impact. 2. Entrepreneurs prioritize problem-solving over monetary gains. Additionally, we explored the vital aspects of self-management, including skills, values, and character. In the afternoon, we were privileged to have Mitchell Elegbe , the CEO of Interswitch Group , share his invaluable experiences, mistakes, and lessons. Several points left a lasting impression: 1. Local problems demand local solutions. 2. Collaboration is essential; no one person can solve global issues alone. 3. Providing value to others is the key to attracting payment. 4. A well-structured plan and unwavering execution are vital. 5. While education is crucial, maintaining a sense of spirituality is equally important in all endeavors. Later in the evening, RICHMOND OKAFOR enlightened us on the intricacies of crafting a business model and business plan. He emphasized the two key factors that consumers seek in any product or service: 1. Gain: How it benefits consumers and enhances their enjoyment. 2. Pain: How it alleviates discomfort and resolves issues. We extend our gratitude to #JaNigeria and the #Vimp2023 organizers for this enriching experience.

The topic of fostering dynamic entrepreneurial innovation ecosystems has brought together many strands of my work of the last twenty years: Local Economic Development, Innovation Systems and a resilient and responsive mesospace.

An entrepreneurial ecosystem emerges from the dense interactions between people in a society being entrepreneurial with their resources, talent, opportunities and the constraints they face. These systems evolve over time as enterprises and their markets grow, supporting organisations learn and infrastructure is adapted.
