🧠 According to the BBC, acute waiting list pressure for GP surgeries has been shown to be impacting more than 650,000 patients across England. An MRI examination may evoke feelings of uncertainty, fear, or anxiety in patients, as they contemplate the potential diagnosis or outcome of the medical examination. Furthermore, the confined space of the MRI machine can trigger discomfort, potentially causing anxiety during the procedure. In partnership with the clinical team at Musgrove Park Hospital, Somerset NHS Foundation Trust and Sara Williams POP Design and Projects, we successfully implemented their new MRI Suite with integrated design themes and decorations. The "spacemen/women amongst the nature" themed décor includes an MRI simulator designed to resemble a Space Rocket and a beautiful pathway of nature and woodland. Our goal is to create a more positive experience for patients of all ages, alleviating concerns they may have about being in a confined space with unfamiliar noises, reducing anxiety, and therefore, improving patient satisfaction. Another motivation behind the development of Zalunfiban with the CeleBrate Trial 👇 The swift accessibility of ambulance services is essential in the emergency medical infrastructure. However, the landscape of ambulance access in the United States reveals significant disparities, amplifying the urgency of our Zalunfiban mission. https://lnkd.in/dQsqhu9w https://lnkd.in/dgr9jCN4 Patient outcomes are intricately tied to the distance and time it takes to receive care. In 2020, 23,272 ambulance agencies operated across the U.S., with 73% reporting that they serve rural regions. Analysis of data from 41 states in 2021-2022 uncovers a stark reality: 4.5 million individuals inhabit 'ambulance deserts', places where people live more than 25 minutes from an ambulance station. Rural counties were more likely to have ambulance deserts (84%) than urban counties (77%). Notable areas with a high concentration of people living in such deserts include the Appalachian region in the South; challenging mountainous terrain in Western states; coastal areas nationwide; and the rural mountainous areas of Maine, Vermont, Oregon, and Washington.
