Michelle Chan’s Post

It was our pleasure to have David with us in China for four days. He joined me to facilitate our EMCC accredited Team Coaching Practitioner level program designed by CCMI-Transcend. He hosted our team coaching supervision sessions in both Hong Kong and China. He also was a main guest speaker in our "Navigating Uncertainty - Leadership in New Era" in Shenzhen, China. This forum attracted more than 140 business leaders, HR leaders and coaches. Chinese team coaches and business leaders are curious about new methods, passionate and eager to learn. As a very rough estimate, China alone will need 50,000 trained team coaches within the next ten years, to support businesses and public sector organizations in coping with rapid change and the rapid shift towards distributed leadership. Many of these will be inside corporations – leaders, who are not only skilled at teaming for their own teams but able to act as team coaches for other teams. That’s a vast requirement and one of the ways we are looking to meet that is to train leaders and Human Resource professionals to deliver our education programmers under license in their organizations.  So they can certified their own team coaches, grow quickly to meet their developmental needs and organization.

**How coaching and mentoring are evolving in China and India** I was delighted to take the opportunity to revisit Hong Kong and India in my recent travels, to deliver some team coach training and Masterclasses. It's always so fascinating to engage with coaches in Hong Kong and mainland China and also my colleagues from xMonks - An Ecosystem in India Last time I was in Shenzhen, it was just a village. Now, it’s a thriving modern city of 18 million people. The level of technology in everyday life was a shock – from a technological perspective, this is a highly advanced society, changing far faster than any city I have observed in the West. From my interactions with Chinese coaches and business leaders it’s also clear that the sense of pace applies to learning, too. And there’s the danger – the technology can’t distinguish between evidence-based, high-quality learning imports and quick fix ones. It’s reminiscent of selling out-of-date pharmaceuticals into countries that don’t have an established pharma industry of their own. The good news is that my local colleagues, Transcend International - Coaching and Training, observe that Chinese clients – especially at a corporate level – are asking the right questions and wising up for high quality evidenced based programs with longer term vision and sustainable outcomes ➡️ To continue reading my blog and hundreds of other articles please go to: https://lnkd.in/eKrq7Hx5 Tony Dickel Michelle Chan Craig Mackenzie Gaurav Arora, MCC (ICF) #davidclutterbuck #teamcoaching #leadership #coaching #mentoring
