Dear Applicants: If you decide to use AI tools to generate a personalized message expressing your interest in a specific role, it's crucial to proofread it before sending it to the hiring manager. Ensure the message has a personal touch, accurately reflects your capabilities and skills, and sounds genuine. Many hiring managers can easily spot AI-generated messages, as they often receive a high volume of them for each job posting. While AI can help you craft a well-structured message, relying solely on it without adding your unique touch can be detrimental. It can give a bad impression that you can’t even create a short message yourself! To increase your chances of receiving a response, make your message effective, concise, and straight to the point. #AIJobApplication #JobSearchTips #HiringManagerAdvice #PersonalizedMessage #EffectiveCommunication #JobHunt #CareerTips #ProfessionalAdvice #JobApplicationTips #AIinRecruitment #StandOutInTheCrowd #CareerSuccess #JobSeekerTips

Sidestepping Common Pitfalls in AI-Prompted Job Descriptions: A Pragmatic Approach 🎯 In the modern recruitment landscape, leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) to draft job descriptions is not just a trend, but a significant time-saver. However, the path is laden with common missteps that could deter the process. Here's a brief on common mistakes to avoid when using AI prompts for job descriptions: 1. Neglecting to Proofread 📜: AI may sometimes err in phrasing. Always review and refine the AI-generated content to mirror your personal touch. 2. Copy-Pasting AI Output 📋: AI is a tool, not a replacement for personal effort. Ensure to infuse your unique language and thoughts into the AI-created draft. 3. Vagueness in Prompts 🌫️: Ambiguous prompts yield generic responses. Be clear and specific to elicit accurate and useful outputs. 4. Misrepresentation 🎭: Avoid broad prompts that might lead AI to concoct information. Ensure the output accurately represents your company's needs and the role in question. 5. Non-standard Formats 🚫: Stick to conventional formats to ensure AI comprehends and processes your input correctly. By dodging these common blunders, recruiters can harness AI prompts to craft job descriptions that resonate with the right candidates and accurately reflect their company's needs. 🤖 Tread lightly using AI and think twice before letting it decide for you... A few weeks ago, while working on several open roles, I made a critical mistake! After generating a list of suitable candidates through our automated search, I ended up with a few names of well-fitting candidates. Being busy with other tasks, I quickly contacted the first candidate and had a short call with them before submitting their name for the role. Little did I know at the time, this would be a big mistake! 😖 The candidate had been tweaking their CV to outsmart the AI and make themselves appear like a perfect match for the role I was looking for. A few days later, I received a request for an interview between the client and the candidate. As you can imagine, it did not end well. 👎 I ended up apologizing to the client for the candidate's inability to answer the most basic questions about their experience and the tools they arguably used and regretted not digging deeper into the candidate's background 📢 Moral of the story: With every new technology, there will be ways to outsmart it. You should never forget that, like any other tool, AI is just that—a tool. The person using it should apply their own critical thinking to make a thorough assessment. #automation #ai #artificialintelligence #humanresources #hr #recruiting #talentmanagement #talentsourcing #itechinsight #lessonslearned

AI job descriptions are only creating noise in the near term. I see job descriptions miss the mark for one main reason: What hiring managers want =/= What job seekers perceive AI uses existing data to create its outputs. Most job descriptions aren't that good. AI won't know the difference. The human element is a differentiator. Iterate, A/B test, try different messaging. When it works you get better candidates. Shortcuts take away the human element.

As much as I feel AI is essential for increased efficiency and productivity, I also feel that by deligating every task at hand we are also missing the chance to explore the potential of our own intellect. For example, now while making resume we use AI as it has to be compatible with ATS (read: application tracking system) or else even before a real recruiter would review it, it will go down the bin as the "Key words" are missing. What about the real person behind that CV, which has an intellect provided by God to develop the skill required for the job. Why are we disregarding the human capacity and potential for growth. Everything is AI, where is the actual growth of the person using the AI, actually using our brain muscles to write and express ourselves rather than using AI for copy and paste. We are missing out on something big here. Obviously there is a difference between machine done work and human work but we need humans at jobself. This will also be a major reason for countless sitting job less at homes while machine does all the work. What are humans for then???? #artificialintelligence #growthopportunities #humancapital

Have you ever used AI to help answer job application questions? While it may seem like a time-saver, the answers provided can often be a load of babble. When hiring, I lose confidence in a candidate's application because I can no longer determine their true capability, and I cannot make a judgment based on a computerised script. Let's stick to genuine answers to showcase your true potential. #jobapplication #AIrecruiting #recruitingtips #hiring P.S. I used LinkedIn AI to write this. 😜

"Debating if we will use AI is like debating if we will use websites in 1991" ..... and as I write this LinkedIn wants to know if I would like AI to rewrite for me 😅 I attended an enjoyable event yesterday with HireAra debating how AI has, and will, change the recruitment industry by, for example: 💡 Aiding recruiters to match a role with the most suitable candidate faster 💡 Standardising CVs to help reduce unconscious bias 💡 Annotate interview notes in real-time 💡 Helping to pull together a personalised, well written candidate summary in seconds from a CV 💡 Overall improve the candidate and client experience How do you think AI will change the recruitment industry? #ai #talentattraction

What are your thoughts on using AI to write your job applications? Personally, I wouldn't do it and recommend that you don't either. Your job application should reflect your unique skills and personality. Here's why AI-generated applications can miss the mark: 1️⃣ Lacks Personalization: AI templates sound generic and fail to showcase your individuality. 2️⃣ Misses Human Touch: Recruiters value authenticity and genuine communication—qualities that AI-generated content lacks. 3️⃣ Doesn't Highlight Your Story: Your journey and career path are unique—let your voice shine through in your application. Craft your job applications yourself to ensure they resonate with recruiters and reflect who you are as a person. #JobApplicationTips #AuthenticityMatters #NoAITemplates
