Shout out to Armand Farrokh because this is about as eye-opening as a tweet can possibly get. Cold outreach is about separating yourself from everyone else, yet everyone wants to do the same thing as everyone else... I made a post last week about how sales leaders that complain about getting cold called are hypocrites. It did 40,815 impressions on here. One person cold called me from it. By the way, I'm Head of Revenue at Rocket Shipping (a RAPIDLY growing company). I've got a budget, and I'm constantly looking at things to add to our tech stack to make the team more efficient and help us scale. "No one picks up anymore". Nah people just accepted that to be true because deep down they don't want to pick the phone up. I pick up every cold call and I often accept meetings and buy. Plenty of other sales leaders that aren't hypocritical dorks do the same thing. But email is easier, so that's what 99.9% of sales reps do. Cold calling not only still works, it's starting to work better than it has in years because so many salespeople have abandoned it. Give it a shot, set time aside everyday to dial and don't give up on it. Everyday will become easier than the day before as you begin to collect follow ups and build a true outbound pipeline. Oh and if you need some help brushing up on your cold calling skills you can get my $99 Full SDR course for free at the link below https://lnkd.in/giezz4PP I accept all LinkedIn connections btw so if you liked this post shoot me a connect request to keep seeing them 👍

I picked up a cold call today. - Rep asked me if it was a bad time, I said, meh, let's roll the dice. - Then he asked how my day was going. - Then he pitched in product, not problems. If you've seen any of my content, you know these are all mistakes -- but I didn't care. Because the kid was in college doing the exact same first sales job I did: selling life insurance. And he wasn't afraid to do the thing every other sales leader is BEGGING their team to do: pick up the phone. So we turned it into a 5 minute coaching session and I found out the kid had a pretty good head on his shoulders. Sales leaders: if you're asking your reps to pick up the phone but chewing out the ones who call you. Stop being a d***.

1) Who has an office phone any more? 2)I don't answer numbers I don't know - who does? 3) Phone calls are intrusive and rude - I will never buy anything if you call me 4) my clients don't have office phones, and privacy is a serious matter, so digging someone's cell phone out of the ether would be a huge red flag.

You get these, "Sales Leaders" that accept cold calls because they want to post on LinkedIn about the cold calls they receive. Not a great reflection of the true market of cold calling right now. Wouldn't be great business for Armand to say Cold calling isn't hot right now because his side hustle of 30 Days to Presidents club revolves around it. I'm not saying CC doesn't work. I cold call every day, but it's very rare anyone picks up. But then again, my market isn't "sales leaders"...

how do you know you only got 6 cold calls?

How does he know that only 6 people called him? Maybe 13000 did and couldn’t get past the gatekeeper?

Do you know what works even better? Walking in to a business and selling them. Hard to do, but amazing results. You definitely need to have confidence, but that will build as you do it.

You can always pivot from a shitty opener in a cold call If your prospect hates your subject line, you've already lost
