For 400+ days straight I woke up every single night at 1am, 3am, 5am, and 7am. That’s what it took to get Rootly where it is today. Why? In the first year of the company, it was just Quentin Rousseau and I. We wore every hat, from engineering to sales to customer support as we raced to find PMF. Luckily we found it quick, and our customer base around the globe (including EMEA and APAC!) started growing. Amazing companies like Canva, Octopus Deploy, and Tide bought our software. Faster than we could’ve imagined. One of our big advantages early on (and still) is our incredible white-glove support. Every customer has a shared Slack channel with us, and Quentin and I are still in every one of them. We needed to be insanely responsive regardless of their timezones. Since day 1, that has meant no customer question went unanswered for more than 1 hour. Regardless of volume or scale, we refused to compromise on support. In fact, we were blowing customers minds by fixing bugs in production within 10min of it being reported. We held a high bar and provided a true 24/7 support model despite being two of us. The downside was waking up multiple times throughout the night to jump on my laptop, get on with customers, ship, and quickly fall back asleep. This sucked. It sucked for everyone around me in my personal life too. I missed birthdays, socials, time with family, vacations, and pretty much everything you can think of (shout out to my amazing fiancé Mariah Maxheimer who stuck with me!). But it payed huge dividends. Looking back, I'm proud of what we did, as the unexpected result was that relentlessly prioritizing our customers and being great partners became a core part of our company's DNA. This is reflected in our G2 reviews and customers often tell me that we're the best vendor they’ve ever worked with. The unglamorous side of being a founder is you need to make tremendous personal sacrifices to succeed. Fortunately, I now have an amazing global team across NA, EMEA, APAC that allows all of us to sleep just a bit more!

Unlimited 121 support calls with the Unboound team (me & Tristan Rushworth). Online group sessions (x2 per week). Regular f2f events. Accountability groups. Business, sales and marketing planning. Founder support (personal goals, mindset, energy and focus). Plus a ton more. We see it as a buffet of support. Our members take what they need, when they need it. Membership is to be capped.
