A rent-to-buy agreement is an uncommon way to enter the property market, but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad option. Rent-to-buy agreements are basically leasing arrangements that provide for the rental of a property, and then, at the end of a set time, the renter will have the option to buy. This makes rent-to-buy a great option for buyers who cannot afford a deposit or secure traditional financing options. The buy component of a rent-to-buy agreement is called an option deed, which allows the tenant to buy the home and move into a bond agreement at the end of the lease term. When you first enter into one of these agreements, you will need to pay an upfront option fee as well as ongoing additional option fees on top of your agreed rental payments. These fees will contribute towards your deposit, so at the end of the rental period, you will have a smaller amount to pay on the agreed property value if the purchase goes ahead. Rent-to-buy also offers another great benefit, as you get the freedom to back out of a deal whenever you want without the possibility of it affecting your credit rating at all. So, a rent-to-buy agreement can be a great alternative if you aren’t able to buy a home in the traditional way. #Property #PropertyMarket #RealEstate #RealNet
