Trilogy celebrates Juneteenth! Last week, Trilogy clients and staff gathered at Sherman Park on Chicago’s South Side to celebrate Juneteenth. We danced, sang, and shared a wonderful meal. In addition, clients performed and shared their talents with us. There were also opportunities for clients to receive free haircuts and health screenings. Did you know that today is ELECTION DAY? It is for Trilogy’s Client Advisory Council! The CAC is an elected group of clients who ensure representation of client voice at Trilogy. The CAC works with Trilogy to help address clients’ needs and suggestions in collaborative way. At Trilogy, each client defines what recovery means to them. The CAC is a natural extension of this philosophy, and elections are a way to foster self-advocacy, engagement and empowerment among clients. As Trilogy grows to continue meeting the needs of people across the city, there are even MORE opportunities for client engagement. For the first time, Trilogy clients cast their ballots for North Side and South Side CAC subcommittees. This will allow for more localized discussions and engagement opportunities. Trilogy has been selected as a recipient of a $1M grant from Cook County Health for our Chicago Youth Mental Wellness Project! The Chicago Youth Mental Wellness Project addresses the growing need for mental and behavioral healthcare supports for children and youth in Chicago. This grant will enable Trilogy to begin providing services for children, youth and families at our new Chatham Wellness Center on the South Side, in addition to expanding service capacity on the Northwest side. “The demand for mental health services that address the needs of children and youth have skyrocketed in recent years," said Susan Doig, LCSW, LPHA, CADC, Trilogy President & CEO. "This is especially true in communities of color, and in communities that have historically had less access to critical resources. We’re incredibly grateful to Cook County Health for this funding that will allow Trilogy to provide preventative care to youth and families as a whole."
