Artists: stop renting your audience. Stop building on platforms that don’t care about you, where a “good” engagement rate is between 1-5% of your following. Build channels you own, and bring as many fans into them as you can. Stop renting. Start owning. 40–50% of the most-followed accounts on major social platforms belong to artists. And yet, these platforms don’t cater to us anymore.
