Our friend, L. Lumbad shared some great thoughts on the importance of our local businesses and veteran organizations. So, let's discuss the importance of connecting through local business partners and veteran organizations for future success. Making connections through local business partners and veteran organizations can greatly contribute to your future success. ⚫ Access to Local Expertise and Networks ⚫ Veteran Organizations Provide Specialized Support ⚫ Community and Social Responsibility Local business partners have a good understanding of the local market. They know all the little details like the rules and regulations, what customers like, and the cultural aspects that are important. When people or businesses work together, they can benefit from the knowledge and experience of the local community. This can provide valuable insights that can be used to customize their strategies and products to better meet the specific needs of the area. In addition, these partnerships can give you access to a wide range of local connections. This can help you discover new opportunities, attract more clients, and gain access to valuable resources. Did you know that veteran organizations have a lot of helpful resources and support specifically designed for veterans? They really understand the unique needs that veterans have. Sure! Some of the resources that are available to you include mentorship programs, opportunities to secure funding, and assistance in transitioning to civilian life or even starting your own business. Joining organizations like these can be really helpful for veterans who want to start their own businesses. It gives them a support system and a clear path to follow, making the transition into the business world easier and increasing their chances of success. When we partner with local businesses and veteran organizations, it helps us build a stronger sense of community and social responsibility. Supporting local businesses and veterans shows that a company is dedicated to making a positive impact in the community. This can really boost their reputation and make a difference in society. Engaging in these activities can help build stronger relationships with customers, improve your reputation in the public eye, and give you the chance to participate in community projects and events that have a positive impact. All of this contributes to the long-term success of your brand by creating a favorable image. More great times on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month. Thankful to all of our local businesses, veterans, family members, and veteran organizations that come out on a regular basis to provide support and connection to one another. It’s always especially great when we see new faces there, enjoying a nice cup of coffee and some conversation helping us in our mission at the Southern Nevada Veterans Chamber of Commerce . Special thanks to Pedal and Pour in South Summerlin for always kindly hosting us. Their cafe was the first venue that I used when hosting these bimonthly coffee events, and these events have grown nicely since we first started. See you at the next one!! Great article by our friend Tessa Robinson on the annual Army-Navy Game. And while we at Second Service have a mission for coming together in support of each other, we have to know: who are you cheering for today? #goarmy #beatnavy #gonavy #beatarmy #friendlyrivalry #friendlycompetition #morethanagame #singsecond
SO PUMPED to be sitting in the press box at the 124th running of the Army-Navy Game, presented by the incredible folks at USAA today! Yesterday, I had the opportunity to sit down with CEO Wayne Peacock, Secretary of the Army Christine Wormuth, Medal of Honor recipient Ryan Pitts, Rob Gronkowski, and others to talk about what this game means. It's so much more than football. #armynavy #usaa

We're just a few weeks away from our next meet up on 28 March at Tactical Brewing in Baldwin Park. Below is the pic from one of our previous meet ups there. Let's pack the place again and make it the most impactful networking event in Central Florida! The veteran community is spread across Central Florida. Veterans and spouses are employed within in every major corporation and many of the small businesses. Thousands of veterans and spouses are top executives or owners of these businesses as well. Establishing a healthy professional network can be a daunting task for veterans and spouses because it's not something taught or encouraged extensively in the military. It comes across as "brown nosing" to many service members. That's not what it is though. Networking is establishing and building relationships towards new opportunities. So whether you are new to the Central Florida area, are just getting ready to wrap up a new degree, hate your current job, or were just let go from a good job, VBC Orlando offers a welcoming and impactful atmosphere for you at our monthly meet ups. Accessing this network of opportunities starts with one action - you need to show up! Cheers! #vbc #vbcorlando #veteransbeerclub #veterans #florida #orlando #centralflorida #networking #transitioningmilitary #militaryspouses #opportunity #community #programs #resources #connections #introductions Veterans Beer Club, Veterans Beer Club Atlanta, Veterans Beer Club Denver, Veterans Beer Club Seattle, Veterans Beer Club DC, Vets on T.A.P., Florida Association of Veteran-Owned Businesses, Inc. Picture a military servicemember. You probably think of a lot of a lot of people in uniform, laughing and having fun...right? Believe it or not, the military have fun, too. Perfect example, Mountainfest is Ft. Drum's (NY) annual party, open to the public. The US Army base opens its doors and invites the military community and the general public to experience typical festival activities, like bounce houses and a dunking booth. To add some excitement, there’s an axe throwing trailer. And a car show, featuring a variety of vintage and custom autos and motorcycles. Plus booths from local vendors, including the Boy Scouts of America, National Ski Patrol, the local police department, and Syracuse University. The event gives the general population an opportunity to experience aspects of military life and capabilities through an array of military equipment, vehicles, aircraft, and gear on display. The Golden Knights - the US Army Parachute Team - puts on an exhibition. The 10th Mountain Division executes a military demonstration highlighting the combined might of the division as a highly trained and rapidly deployable fighting force. More than 15,000 people attend the event, which culminates in a free free concert, presented by AmeriCU Credit Union, featuring Conner Smith and headliner Billy Currington. Family brands, car brands, music brands, tactical brands … the list could keep going. And all have an opportunity to organically connect with both the military community and the general population by participating in a single event. Or operate at scale and replicate the involvement at other bases. Spoiler alert, Ft. Drum isn’t the only installation which operates such events. This is low-hanging fruit. #MilitaryMarketing #Military #marketing

Director BZ Maritime Leadership | Co-Founder Superyacht LEADER Network | Former Royal Navy Senior Officer
By anyone's standards, Jim Ratcliffe has had a remarkable career and there's little sign of him slowing down anytime soon. For me, this article provides a glimpse of one of the reasons for his success - maintaining The HIGHEST OF PERSONAL STANDARDS. This comes to the fore 10 years after a speech from decorated US Navy SEAL, Admiral William McRaven went viral. Admiral McRaven convincingly explains that whilst the US Navy SEALS are elite warfighters, their professionalism starts with the simple task of making their bed every morning. This instils a sense of pride and achievement, right at the start of the day, and this sets the tone for everything that follows. Is there a link between the lack of recent success at Manchester United and their untidy IT Department and scruffy junior team dressing rooms? I suspect Jim Ratcliffe thinks so, and I would agree that standards and pride significantly influence organisational culture and mindset. So as leaders what can you learn from this insight? Do your organisations and teams have the right approach and if not, what are you going to do about it? Short Clip of Admiral McRaven's speech on 'Making Your Bed': https://lnkd.in/ekatdWBt https://lnkd.in/eaMfEJRq

Below is a copy of an e-mail I had from my client who I have helped with the design of this new building that helps so many veterans. They have out grown their existing building. If you have the time, please spare a couple minutes to read this email, we urgently need your support. As most of you are aware we are HX Motors, a Veteran-run company that focuses on rebuilding, restoring and customising Landrovers. We are also a registered drop-in centre for Veterans all over the UK. We have applied to expand our company, moving us to Headcorn where we will be able to build a bigger training facility and have the room to expand our drop-in centre. This means that we will have an area to allow veterans to connect and have a safe space to talk and learn life skills. Our founders, Twiggy (14 years as a Royal Marines Commando with 5 operation tours of Kosovo, Iraq and 3 of Afghanistan. Suffered severe PTSD) and Legless (14 years' service in PWRR and became a double Amputee after driving over an IED in Afghanistan), are prime examples of how support and a community can help veterans in any shape or form. But we need your help urgently as we only have 2 days until cut off. We need to get this notion approved otherwise none of this will be possible. If you are in support of us and our mission, then please email the address below with the details written and write a comment to the Borough Council stating that you support this application and why. Who to email- planningcomments@midkent.gov.uk What to put in the email - 1. Application Number: 23/502511/FULL 2. Full Site Address: Field Adjacent To Dancing Green, Lenham Road, Headcorn, Kent, TN27 9LG 3. The Date of your comment. 4. Your Full Name and Address , Anonymous comments will not be taken into account. 5. Your Comments in Support of our planning application. If you would like to learn more about our VOB (veterans operating base) you can see our interview with Kent Online through this link: Veterans want ex-servicemen’s drop-in centre in Headcorn (kentonline.co.uk)

The NBA Finals tip off tomorrow night and as a fan of the Dallas Mavericks, I’ll be glued to what the team does on the court. Off the court, the team and their partners have been supportive of the military community. The Mavs, along with American Airlines and Nick & Sam's Steakhouse, executed the 17th annual Seats for Soldiers, an experience to honor our nation’s heroes. More than 100 service members enjoyed dinner at Nick & Sam’s and sat court side for a Mavericks game in January. American Airlines provided charter transportation between San Antonio and DFW for servicemembers from Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio. Nick & Sam’s provided the meal. And the Mavericks provided access to the game as well as the platform to make it all happen. The concept for Seats for Soldiers originated with season ticket holders who donated their seats year after year to host the servicemembers. This year, the Mavericks expanded the program by offering the opportunity for additional ticket holders to participate. In collaboration with Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix), the team provided over 400 seats to active duty, veteran/retiree, and Gold Star families. If you break this program down into its basic components, you have a professional sports team which created a day of recognition for the military. Partner brands brought genuine value to the program through their respective core business offerings. The result was an experience for the military community that was memorable and newsworthy. Amplifying this story through earned media/PR and social media efforts would be the next step as a marketing opportunity. Yes, the Mavs are my favorite NBA team. And yes, it makes them that much easier to cheer for when they support the military — another group near and dear to my heart. Mavs in 6. Let’s go! #MilitaryMarketing #Military #marketing #MilitaryAppreciation #MFFL
