Catching up on the past few weeks our co-founder Emma Plowman shared some reflections on how DDP supports not only the community it is building but also her own workstyle, continuing to demonstrate our call to action and living our values as we build and grow DDP.
Reflecting on my first day back after three wonderful weeks with my daughter over Easter, I'm reminded of the journey I embarked on four years ago. I chose to pursue independence, seeking smaller organisations where innovation thrives and teamwork flourishes. The challenge of expanding my network and collaborating with bright minds was undeniable. Yet, the driving force behind my decision was the quest for flexibility and the freedom to craft my own workstyle.
This meant cherishing precious moments with my daughter, prioritising school holidays and summers together. It's not about abandoning work during these times; it's about reclaiming the power to decide when and how I work. It's about partnering with those who champion this mindset, valuing personal well-being as much as professional success.
At the heart of DDP lies a belief in owning one's narrative, forging a unique path unbound by conventional norms. We're dedicated to fostering a community of Non-Executive Directors (NEDs) diverse in background and thought, where every voice adds richness to the conversation.
As I dive back into work, I invite you to reflect: What boundaries do you hold sacred? What boundaries have you yet to set?
Embrace the power to shape your own journey. Break free from the confines of expectation. The future of work is ours to define.
