What a heartwarming initiative by ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India! It's truly inspiring to see the company's employees come together with a shared sense of purpose to uplift their local community. The 'Community Connect' CSR activity, in collaboration with Goodera, showcases the company's commitment to fostering inclusive environments and supporting the education of visually challenged children. The fact that over 60 employees from AM/NS Khopoli volunteered to create 220 Tactile Cards with Braille words is a testament to their compassion and desire to make a meaningful difference. These specialized educational tools will undoubtedly serve as an invaluable resource in helping visually impaired children learn and develop. It's remarkable how a simple yet impactful initiative like this can bring people together, cultivate a spirit of togetherness, and contribute to the betterment of the community. This is a shining example of how businesses can leverage their resources and workforce to create positive change and make a lasting impact. Kudos to ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India for their thoughtful approach to corporate social responsibility and for empowering their employees to be agents of change. Initiatives like these not only benefit the targeted communities but also foster a deeper sense of purpose and fulfillment among the volunteers. Truly, an inspiring display of #SmarterSteels and #BrighterFutures.
Uplifting community through a shared sense of purpose can be fulfilling. Over 60 of our employees from AM/NS Khopoli, volunteered for 'Community Connect' - a CSR activity held in collaboration with the Goodera organisation. During this activity, the volunteers were shown how 'Tactile Cards' with Braille words, served as an invaluable tool in fostering inclusive learning environments for visually challenged children. After a brief demonstration, our volunteers created 220 Tactile Cards with Braille words to help contribute to the education and development of visually impaired children. #SmarterSteelsBrighterFutures

Veteran Housing Corp says that IF YOU ARE NOT PART OF A PERMANENT AND LASTING SOLUTION TO THE AFFORDABLE HOUSING CRISIS AND HOMELESSNESS, YOU ARE THE PROBLEM! THE AFFORDABLE HOUSING INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX IS BROKEN AND NOT WORKING FOR AMERICAN TAXPAYERS Veteran Housing Corp would ask every TAXPAYER to demand and get answers from their elected and appointed government officials the below questions as they relate to any affordable, workforce, or supportive housing project in your community! 1. How much local, state, and federal funding, tax credits, or other government benefits or incentives did the project receive? 2. What is the affordability period for each project? Is the affordability period permanent and in perpetuity? 3. What guarantees exist have your local, state, and federal government officials obtained in writing that rents will not go up or that tenants will not be displaced or evicted after the "affordability period expires? Every local, state, and federal housing authority and affordable or workforce housing stakeholder should adopt the State of Vermont's "permanent affordability" policy as a model for all future government funded or subsidized housing projects or developments, no exceptions! https://lnkd.in/eFEUC8c8 Additionally, local, state and federal housing agencies should look to the Helsinki, FINLAND MODEL of ending homelessness by providing affordable housing for all 'It’s a miracle': Helsinki's radical solution to homelessness https://lnkd.in/er9HZSQU Even the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development AGREES THAT adopting FINLAND'S MODEL OF ERADICATING HOMELESSNESS may be of great value to resolving the affordable housing and homelessness crises in America https://lnkd.in/gkSZWYRU

Attention to racism as a fundamental factor in the lives of YPOC is critical to making change. The ability for youth development organizations to effectively support healing from racism as a part of their programming is essential for #YPOC to thrive. Instead of silencing communities of color in their own healing, philanthropy must intentionally develop an effective set of equitable practices. That way they can hold space for, learn from, and better support the communities they wish to serve. This #MLKDay, we ask you to consider giving in the spirit of Social Justice Philanthropy. ⚖ 👐🏾 Aligned with Dr. King's vision, it addresses underinvestment in communities and uplifts organizations often overlooked by mainstream philanthropy. Social Justice Philanthropy goes beyond traditional giving. It tackles the root causes of social, economic, and environmental injustices, empowering those affected to be decision-makers. It emphasizes that HOW we give is significant - that offering time, knowledge, skills, and access creates spaces where those impacted can successfully guide funding decisions. In this way, we diversify and democratize philanthropy itself and make it more inclusive and accessible. Supporting initiatives like HBCUs, voter mobilization, Legal Aid groups, community empowerment programs, and inequality research directly address systemic imbalances. Crucially, funding BIPOC organizations, traditionally underfunded compared to white-led counterparts, is also a key step towards equity. In honoring Dr. King’s legacy, we ask that you help elevate voices and strengthen the foundations of communities affected by systemic disinvestment. Through this effort, we can foster a more interconnected and just global community. #SocialJusticePhilanthropy #EquitableInvestment 📷 : Camilo José Vergara - Muralist unknown (Philadelphia)
