📢 Today, the Court of Justice of the European Union ruled that the European Commission failed to provide sufficient public access to the purchase agreements for Covid-19 vaccines. 👍 While we welcome the Court's decision, it is regrettable that proactive transparency measures were not in place beforehand. 🌟 This decision marks a significant step forward for transparency and ethics in European governance and underscores the importance of clarity when it comes to the lives of EU citizens. MAKE TRANSPARENCY AN EU PRIORITY Poorly protected integrity systems pose a massive threat to EU democracy. That's why we, along with LobbyControl, Corporate Europe Observatory, The Good Lobby and Friends of the Earth Europe have written to Ursula von der Leyen, asking the next European Commission to put transparency first. Transparency International EU is horrified to learn of the death of Ghassan Gharib Zahran, the 13-year-old son of Salam Zahran, our colleague from AMAN Coalition (TI Palestine), our chapter in Palestine. We send our deepest and heartfelt condolences to Salam and her family. Ghassan was shot and killed on Tuesday by Israeli forces close to his village, near Ramallah in the West Bank. He is one of more than 15,000 children killed in the West Bank and Gaza since 7 October 2023. Over 38,000 Palestinians have been killed during this period, while many of the survivors endure terrible humanitarian conditions, such as lack of basic shelter, food and water. We call for an immediate ceasefire and urgent, meaningful steps toward durable peace. Borders must also be opened to enable extensive humanitarian aid to reach those in desperate need.

But if you can see that there are 5000 other companies registered to the same address, alarm bells should be going off. ⚠️ Our own Roland Papp spoke on the final day of the #IACC on policy, #data and anti-money laundering, and it proved a fascinating exchange on the innovation needed for banks, financial institutions and civil society to combat dirty money.
