🚨#APRA House Energy & Commerce committee markup canceled 👀 This doesn’t bode well for the latest attempt at federal #privacy legislation, but not surprising given the immense pushback from literally all sides on the latest draft. Guess we’ll have to stay tuned 🍿 ******* 💡Some great insight from Dave Barmore at Runway Strategies: ➡️ There have been recent reports stating that House Republican leadership has the votes to kill this in committee unless Chairwoman Rodgers agrees to address some of their concerns. ➡️ We should expect negotiations between Rodgers and Republican leadership to continue.
Putting aside my thoughts on the value of the former or the latest draft, with (bipartisan) states arguing against preemption and swaths of money (thank you plaintiffs bar) pushing to keep the PRA, those are huge social and political issues.
