WAY 5/40 - BUILD A BRIDGE Are you struggling to shift your state? No need to leap from one state to another - Build a Bridge! Applying Way 4/40 you can move mindfully and gently from a state of unease into something that has a little more ease to it. Perhaps you need to increase or decrease your energy with a walk or a breathing exercise? In for a four-count, our for a six-count.... You can also Build a Bridge from one state to another. Each Way can lead to another and offer some simple steps over the bridge: Way 1 - Clarity Compass Check-in: Where are you now? Way 2 - Choose a Card that best represents your current state Way 3 - Shift our State to mindfully move along the spectrums of energy and ease Way 4 - Select a State: which card would best help you in your next endeavour? Let's say it is 'I can do it', but you are currently in overwhelm... Way 5 - Build a bridge: which cards could bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be? An example for me is: > I feel overwhelmed > Harden the F&%k up > You're doing the best you can > I can do it I would love to hear about your bridges in the comments! #40cards40ways #FRANKcommunity #ClarityCards #ClarityCompass #moodmeter #energy #ease #love #mentalhealth #thoughts #emotions

If the scale is not changing but you are, this is what I want you to do. 👇🏽 A lot of the time you step on the scale and the number doesn’t change.. But your weights are going up at the gym( lifting heavier ) and your clothes are starting to fit a bit looser. Also, your friends and family are noticing the changes that are happening to your body. but you’re still frustrated because the scale is not dropping. 😤 Real talk…. the scale is just an arbitrary number, meaning the number doesn’t really mean anything. So if the scale is not changing but you’re changing, your friends are seeing you change, you’re getting stronger and feeling better…. you need to change absolutely nothing. What you are doing is working. That means you are losing fat and building muscle which is EXACTLY what you want. 💯

Wise advice if you want to be your best!
Resting - can you fly high without it? Folk who know me, know. I like resting. Resting isn't lazy. Resting is integral. It helps you be at your best. Athletes know. Recovery is as important as effort. It's integral to their success. We can learn from sport. You can't be full throttle 24/7. Quality over quantity. Rest between efforts. It's not always big moments. Resting can be small moments. This may sound bizarre - we can also learn from our phones. Many folk give more self-care to their phone, than themselves. Their phones never run out of charge. They get plugged in. They recharge, before they go again. Resting is my recharge. It is a habit. It is a routine and, I practice it. A walk, a run, a ride. A slow brunch. A pint, a natter. A sit, a cuppa, a newspaper. A kitchen dance. Quiet. All these play a part of my resting routine. We might know the value of resting, but do we protect it? We can't expect to be at our best, if we don't recharge. Here's to resting. It helps us fly high. #performance #beingatyourbest #microballroom

Sometimes you just need to take a break. Unwind. Breathe. It is almost like recharging a battery. Our minds need a day off. Well today is that day. I have made several attempts to get things done to no prevail. So instead of fighting it. I gave in. Just breathe. Tomorrow you will try to accomplish what you failed to do today. #rechargeyourself #selfcarematters

NZ Keynote Speaker of the Year 2023/24, Workplace Wellbeing Expert, TEDx Speaker, Author, and host of the THRIVE TV Show
// Stay in Rhythm // #LiveWellWednesday Our bodies have natural ultradian rhythms throughout the day each with a 90-120 minute upswing when we can perform at our peak, interspersed with 10-15 minute downswings when the body and brain need to recharge and reset. Work in sync with these rhythms so you can feel and perform at your best. Rather than pushing through the tired signals that indicate a downswing, take a few minutes to recharge. Having a short power nap or being still and calm allows the brain to file away information and prepare for the next peak. At the very least create a change of state, for example from sitting to active or from writing to stretching. The short break saves you time, making you more efficient overall as you will work with more creativity, accuracy and speed than before the break. Structure your day in sync with your body’s rhythm, completing high level tasks when you have the best energy and you will feel ‘in flow’ throughout the day.
