Thank you to EC BID for supporting our Iftar and Eid events. It was great to see so many families and community members coming together to celebrate.
Earlier this year EC BID launched the EC Community Fund with ActionFunder, aiming to foster community development and addressing social and environmental issues. The fund, worth a total amount of £40,000, was awarded to ten diverse initiatives ranging from homelessness and employability skills to climate education for children. After receiving funding Toynbee Hall held an Iftar and Eid event for the local Tower Hamlets community in their state-of-the-art community centre and 140-year-old Lecture Hall. 132 people attended the events, enjoying delicious locally made meals, arts & crafts including henna and Eid card making, children’s play area, film screening and a photo booth.
