🌍 Happy Earth Day! Today, we're reflecting on the impact of our tree-planting efforts: #TeamTransparity helped plant 1200 trees during our Impact Day in February! Led by our Chief People & Culture Officer, Neil Tune MSc, MA, FCIPD, ACC, along with Michelle Wilson (Assoc CIPD), Natalie Brazier, Alison Evershed, Alex Anderson, Jasmin Devonshire, James Kenyon, and Lee Chant, we planted Hawthorn, Rowan, Willow, and Oak trees—all grown in the UK—on the re-wilding site called Yonder Oak in Exmouth.
Despite the rain, our team and other companies joined forces to protect our woodlands for future generations. This Earth Day, we celebrate our achievements in becoming a greener business, achieving Carbon Neutral status with a plan for net zero emissions. Since partnering with The Woodland Trust in April 2022, we've provided £43,000 toward environmental projects, including the Emergency Tree Fund Phase 1 and this year's Urban Tree Project. These initiatives improve biodiversity, access to nature, and mitigate floods, benefiting communities across the UK.
Our Winning From Anywhere initiative, embracing home-based work, has reduced our carbon footprint, improved work-life balance, and supported our business growth while prioritising employee well-being. We believe that connecting with nature enhances performance, and our partnership with the Woodland Trust underscores our commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable practices 🌳

🌳 The landscape of Scottish Estates is undergoing a remarkable evolution, pivoting towards sustainability and enhanced community engagement. 🍃
Evelyn Channing from Savills notes a seismic shift: "The focus on using land to address climate crisis and biodiversity loss marks the most significant change in estate management I've seen." This reflects a broader trend of integrating environmental stewardship into the heart of estate operations.
Echoing the sentiment of innovation and change, Chloe Finlayson, Chief Creative Officer at Kana Earth, emphasises the need for adaptation to retain youth in rural communities and tackle climate change. "We need change, the way we have been growing businesses as usual isn’t working anymore...Even in my lifetime, it has changed!”
Our latest article, "The Greening of the Glen: A New Era in Scottish Estate Ownership," dives into the positive contribution Scottish Estates can have on solving environmental challenges while supporting local economies, and from the voices of those seeing and experiencing the need for this change.

The Greenbelt was established in 2005 to shield environmentally sensitive areas, conserve natural habitats, and secure productive farmland from the relentless encroachment of urban sprawl, particularly around the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). It covers approximately 2 million acres, making it one of the most significant greenbelts globally.
As a community, it's our duty to ensure that this natural treasure remains intact for generations to come. By raising awareness, advocating for policies, participating in local planning, promoting sustainability, and supporting environmental organizations, we can be active stewards of this invaluable asset, protecting it for the well-being of our communities and the environment. The Greenbelt isn't just land; it promises a greener, more sustainable future for Ontario.
In this blog post, we'll explore the Greenbelt and discover how we, as a community, can actively contribute to its preservation. https://lnkd.in/gXKDCBZ9#ethicallymade#climatechange#ethical#savetheplanet#sustainabledesign#consciousconsumer#climateaction#sustainableliving#circulareconomy#greenbelt#explorecanada#canada
I'm so interested in this topic about #2030Districts and learning how our company can take action now to comply with the new Clean Building Standard. Whether you're a building owner or not, if you work in the #CREIndustry and in construction it's important to stay in-the-know about the measures being taken to combat climate change in the environments that we're building. Are you going to this luncheon?
