Question from my last media interview: What advice do you have for disabled early career professionals? Two things I wish someone told me when I was younger: 💡 Keep at it. Disability is not always valued by others, but you ARE valued and your work is important. Ableist, negative attitudes are pervasive and will throw shade. Keep going because we need you and your work! 💡Find your mentors and your network. There is a growing community of disabled scholars, professionals, and allies. Sometimes you may need to reach beyond your organization for that broader network. These folks are invaluable sources of support. Is this post helpful to your network? Mums working in tech 📢 we need to hear from you! At MotherBoard we have an open survey to gather insight around your experiences within the tech industry. 50% of women leave tech by age 35, many leave because the industry often isn't inclusive of the needs of mums. This is directly affecting women getting into leadership roles and creating an imbalance across all levels. So please take 10//15 minutes to fill out the survey and share with your networks.
