Happy Veteran's Day to the men and women of the U.S. military past and present. I often reflect on the indelible impact of those who have served our country including my grandfather who left behind an enduring legacy of sacrifice. His dedication to our country has played a significant role in shaping my appreciation for Veterans. In fact, he said, "God Bless our Veterans," so often that when he passed, we made sure to etch those words on his tombstone. To all Veterans, thank you for your service. Today is the 248th birthday of the United States Marine Corps. My time in the Corps was one of the most rewarding chapters of my life, and my experience as a Sergeant of Marines has been foundational to my success since. Because of the Corps, I formed a rigorous work ethic, learned the importance of attention to detail, gained invaluable mentors and coaches, and cultivated friendships that I keep to this day. Most importantly, I learned what it means to serve others. Here's to the lessons learned, the friendships made, and the unwavering esprit de corps that define us. I appreciate the key stats from the recent study commissioned by Opal and conducted by Forrester that surveyed 151 chief marketing officers, VPs, and senior directors of marketing from the technology and retail sectors. I do not believe the answer to "alignment" and the key to "producing content that is connected to organizational goals" is technology though. It starts with a sound content strategy and that isn't light work. It requires a comprehensive view of the audience, the competition, the organization's priorities, the buyer journey, and more. All of these are then distilled down into a comprehensive strategy and roadmap that allow departments, business units, divisions, etc. to move forward in a way that demonstrates alignment within the organization while understanding how each piece comes together to form the customer experience. #Marketing #Communication #B2B #Silos
