Following an interesting conversation over croissant (which was finished before the recording started) with Hitanshree Shah, an MBA graduate from University of St. Gallen, I realised how often MBA aspirants shy away from reaching out to the admissions office at their target business schools for clarity about the admission process. University of St. Gallen is one of the select top business schools in Europe that offers an executive assessment for suitable aspirants who, for some reason, cannot submit a GMAT/GRE score.
This and more about the 'learning by doing' philosophy at the University of St. Gallen !
With an aim to fast-track her career progression in the corporate world and add a global approach to her professional skill set, Hitanshree Shah, an MBA '23 graduate from the University of St. Gallen, had a one-on-one conversation with Master's Admit. In this episode of Croissant Corner, Hitanshree talks about the program at St. Gallen and an executive assessment option extended by school to candidates who are not able to take the GMAT / GRE.
The conversation focuses heavily on how the practical approach of the MBA program has helped St. Gallen graduates succeed in the corporate world. From Startup Week at Google HQ in Zurich to networking with alumni and being part of a diverse international cohort, the MBA program at St. Gallen emphasizes admitting talented aspirants who are willing to be part of the change.

Which way forward? New insights from EIBA 2023
Just landed from a stimulating and enriching experience at the European International Business Academy (EIBA) conference in Lisbon. It was a very special weekend for me, as it marked my return to academic circles after six years in management practice and after the beginning of my tenure as a professor at HHN earlier this year. I was thrilled to reconnect with familiar faces and equally happy to meet new ones. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who shared their insights and time in Lisbon with me!
Reflecting on the conference, one thought stands out: much of our (international) management knowledge was developed during times of relative stability. Unfortunately, we are moving away from these times of stability. We find ourselves in a period of transition, presenting new challenges for managers globally. This evolving landscape underlines the need for our research to be more dynamic and relevant to current business realities. Addressing these emerging complexities is more than just an academic exercise; it's a necessity to bridge the 'relevance gap'. The growing demand for research that directly addresses the immediate and practical challenges faced by managers is undeniable.
I look forward to future gatherings and collaborations and I’m excited about the potential for our community to make impactful contributions during these transformative times. Let's bridge the gap between academia and management practice!

I was invited by #CEIBS to attend the TED*CEIBS 2024 annual gala, with this year's theme being "Light." I took this opportunity to visit another glass pyramid outside of Paris and to enjoy the architectural blend of East and West, modern and traditional.
One of the most striking impressions of today is that business school students are now more interested in humanities and cutting-edge science, and they show a keen interest in interdisciplinary, cross-industry, and cross-cultural understanding compared to previous generations. The relaxed and confident smiles of young managers are particularly appealing.
The auditorium, with seven or eight hundred people, was packed. The lineup of speakers included physicists studying light, scientists working on brain-machine interfaces, Olympic gold medalists in winter sports, local designers aspiring to build Chinese fashion brands, young dancers, rocket engineers for commercial spaceflight, female entrepreneurs bringing light to underdeveloped areas through social enterprises producing solar lamps and screens, AI scientists, and a Malaysian economics professor who has always been optimistic about the Chinese economy. Each had their own unique perspective and strengths. As it was a Saturday evening event, it was also live-streamed on WeChat, with an online audience of over fifty thousand.
Let's draw inspiration from today's theme: Light illuminates the direction in darkness, brings glory in success, colors the art of creation, and nurtures the continuous energy for growth; light is power, and also courage! From ancient times, when fire was used as light, to modern times, where light connects us through the internet, light represents infinite possibilities and hope. We pursue light, embrace light, see light, chase light, become light, and radiate light. A glimmer of light marks a new chapter, and together, these glimmers form a brilliant radiance. #CEIBS#MBA_in_ChinaCEIBS Global Executive MBA ProgrammeChina Europe International Business School (CEIBS)CEIBS MBA ProgrammeCEIBS Global EMBAIsa LuoDominique TURPIN
