We are well aware that plastic bottles rank among the most commonly found items in landfills. Their recycling rate is exceedingly low, and they can only be transformed into lower-quality materials through downcycling. Consequently, they are destined for landfills. Fortunately, they are also among the simplest items to substitute in your daily routine. Make the switch to tap water and start refilling a reusable bottle. FACT: In scientific testing, bottled water was found to be no safer than tap water.

Make The Best Use of Plastic by transforming plastic waste to high-quality recycled plastic has been our version since we started manufacturing recycled plastic in 2004. Our PCR business has a complete product range. PP, PE, and ABS are the top 3 best sellers, as they are widely used in varies markets and industries for general applications. In terms of our sales in the application sectors, following household electrical appliances, packaging is the 2nd largest industry for our PCR business now. And it is set to become a dominant focus in the recent years, because of the implementation of environmental regulatory in Europe and other regions, as well as the commitments of the international brand owners in 2025. We foresee a big increase in this market from the next year. In fact, some of our customers have already had contracts with us to book our capacity for the next few years, and some are in on-going discussions with us for long-term global contracts. On Friday, is our plastic waste collection day, for recycling. This picture is of 2 weeks' worth of plastic waste that we have accumulated (2 bags per week). It's visual representation of how much plastic waste we actually produce including PET bottles, PP containers, HDPE bottles/containers ... mostly all using self-adhesive labels. We at UPM Raflatac have a list of pressure sensitive labels, approved by RecyClass that can remain on plastic packaging on PP and HDPE containers. This means that using our label material, these materials are recognized to be recycling compatible with coloured PP and HDPE containers ... a first of its kind in the world. Study Into New Zealand-first For End-of-life Plastic Recycling: A new collaboration between industry and Government marks the first step towards a circular economy for soft plastic packaging in New Zealand

Only 1 in 400 disposable coffee cups are recycled in the UK – that’s a lot of waste.    Made with a combination of paper and plastic coatings, most disposable coffee cups are a waste management nightmare. This mixture of materials means they are not accepted in UK kerbside recycling collection schemes and can take up to 1,500 years to break down.    That’s why we created Jungle Cups.    Jungle Cups are paper coffee cups that replace plastic linings with a water-based dispersion-coated barrier board. From parcels for online purchases to coffee-to-go cups, packaging is almost everywhere. How much of it goes to waste? 🗑️ In 2021, the EU experienced an increase of 10.8 kg more per person than in 2020, the biggest increase in 10 years, and almost 32 kg more than in 2011. We came to the conclusion that we have to start somewhere and if it means one day we can irradicate them all together - maybe even industry wide, it’s worth it. 🙏 For now, it’s our products and our problem. We are responsible for our plastic caps, so we’re happy to take responsibility for them. Made from a thinner recyclable PP Polypropylene Plastic than traditional screw top caps, they can be easily unscrewed and popped in your local recycling bin OR you can send them back to us 👆and we will hold on to them so we can turn them into something new. ♻️ Plus, if you send us your post office receipt, we will take that money off your next order. 💸 We hope to make this process as smooth as possible in the future but we figure, doing something is better than nothing at all.
