145 years ago today - Jun 4, 1879 John Taylor and apostles decline to allow Elijah Abel to receive the temple endowment because he is Negroid, even though Abel received the Melchizedek priesthood with Joseph Smith's authorization. This African-American regularly attends his Seventy's quorum meetings and serves a proselytizing mission just before his death. [The Mormon Hierarchy - Extensions of Power by D. Probabilistically, the past is the realm of the collapsed possibilities, the present the moment of the collapse, and the future the time of infinite possibilities. Our present actions will determine which future will be added to the line of your history.

Preservation easements can be such powerful tools as we seek to permanently preserve important events in US history.
A new easement in the City of Chesapeake protects property associated with the Battle of Great Bridge, the first major armed conflict of the American Revolutionary War in Virginia. This easement protects the 0.664-acre property from subdivision and future development. The city has plans to incorporate the property into the Great Bridge Battlefield & Waterways Historic Park, which is open to the public and includes a museum, an interpretive historic pathway, trails, and other attractions. Herbert and Neil Singer Research Assistant Professor at Rockefeller University | Visiting Scholar at New York University
Just watch this powerful video by Christopher Bailey! I would explain what it is about, but I don't have the time (pun intended).
Thanks to Community Jameel for editing this short piece of mine from the six hour live stream of the The White House consultation on culture and community hosted by the National Endowment for the Arts. I would describe what I say in it, and the wise words of the other speakers including the Surgeon General, the NEA Chair, and the 2nd Gentleman of the US, Renee Fleming, among others but I don’t have the time. https://lnkd.in/e5U3EX5a

The precise whereabouts and ultimate fate of the Ark of the Covenant continue to elude contemporary understanding. However, imagine if it were secreted away from Solomon's Temple. Could there be a more fitting refuge than the uncharted expanses of the New World, known as America? And within this realm of possibilities, who could be more trustworthy and capable of guarding the Ark's clandestine location than a figure of George Washington's stature among global leaders? This is the story the book will tell.
