with my agricultural background I can say it is one of the most profitable businesses. Here I bring you a case study of selling Rice in bulk vs Processed. I will not be using the production cost, rather I will go with gross revenue before and after processing. Also, I will use realistic stats. Kainat 1121 - The best variety, the most expensive and delicious one. Average per acer: 45*40 = 1800 kg Ordinary way of selling it in bulk, the way farmers sell. Production: 1800kg per acer Rate during season: 4600pkr per 40kg Out of season: max 6000pkr per 40kg Gross Revenue During season: 4600*45 = 207,000 per acer Gross Revenue after season: 6000*45 = 270,000 per acer After Processing: Production: 1800kg per acer Weight loss during milling: 40 - 15 = 25kg Sellable production per acer: 45*25 = 1125 kg Number of 5kg packages: 1125/5 = 225 packages per acer Daraz average selling price: 2000 pkr per 5kg pack Gross revenue: 2000*225 = 450,000 pkr per acer Profit compared to season: 450,000 - 207,000 = 243,000 Profit compared to after the season rates: 450,000 - 270,000 = 180,000 In bulk farmers make immediate money but processing takes time and products sell gradually. #ecommercebusiness #ecommercestrategy #casestudy #daraz #rice #shopify

According to Ian Banks, Editor of theSauerReport, Chinese tanners are currently interested in German hides that fit their price ideas. German cowhides remain the focus for Asian tanners, with Chinese tanners keen to buy available material, but only if the price falls within a tight structure. Any attempt to increase prices will mean an end to negotiations. In fact, the main fight for suppliers is to hold onto current price levels. As we move away from the Winter months and into the warmer months, slaughter rates in Europe traditionally start to fall and the mix of cattle coming through the system changes. Cow numbers increase and ox numbers usually decrease in Germany. If the pattern is repeated for this year, it will be a relief for hide suppliers. All eyes now turn towards Hong Kong and the upcoming APLF fair, with the hope that some direction and positive news can be found. 1 ton - 1000 INR loss, 10 ton - 10,000 INR loss! On June 4 we gave advance to the farm which have around 20,000 coconuts for 26 INR/kg and balance salary, delivery will be covered by our end. Due to heavy rain the mud was completely wet and couldn’t able to dehusk the coconut for five days. Market price was 28.5 INR/ kg delivered to the factory on June 4. Which means, 26 INR + 2.5 INR ( Including salary and delivery charges ) On June 10 market was completely down for about 26.5 INR/kg delivered to the factory. The overall loss will be 1 INR/ kg that is 1000 INR/ ton. There is no chance to reduce the price in farm and increase the price in factory! • More than the loss, We decided to give the coconuts since there is no other ways for the commitment we gave to each others. And then the magic happened, On the June 14, we came to know that our coconuts was good at yield and gave max of 28% output where this season coconuts gave only 26%. On that particular load our customer got a profit of 15000 INR completely. They sent us the loss amount 10,000 INR back! Cool right! • There are people who do business only for money and • There are people who do business for ethics, relationships and trust! Our growth is based on what of people we work with! #coconut #business #loss #profit #thecocobrothers
