https://lnkd.in/eezuUMP8 It's easily done. If you have an internet presence with messages and audio then your persona and voice can be cloned in minutes. Connected with an LLM, speech recognition, voice synthesis and it all works in real time, a virtual you. My brother demonstrated this back in January for comedy purposes and proof of principle using my voice and persona. And ChatGPT wrote all of the code. Probably a first for an end to end system in his weekend dabble. What these powerful AI tools do is lower the barriers to entry in terms of knowledge required to execute and effort required to execute. That means many threat actors are now newly enabled.

In Hong Kong office, US$25.6 million was stolen using AI deepfake technology. “The scam featured a digitally recreated version of the company's chief financial officer, along with other employees, who appeared in a video conference call instructing an employee to transfer funds.” https://lnkd.in/gZEHCXJr “When asked, ChatGPT also created propaganda in the style of Russian state media or China’s authoritarian government, according to the findings of analysts at NewsGuard, a firm that monitors and studies online misinformation.” https://lnkd.in/e5YyURDR AI is designed to lie. “This isn’t fixable,” said Emily Bender, a linguistics professor and director of the University of Washington’s Computational Linguistics Laboratory. “It’s inherent in the mismatch between the technology and the proposed use cases.” https://lnkd.in/eeTfch7g “Researchers programmed various large language models (LLMs) — generative AI systems similar to ChatGPT — to behave maliciously. Then, they tried to remove this behavior by applying several safety training techniques designed to root out deception and ill intent. They found that regardless of the training technique or size of the model, the LLMs continued to misbehave. One technique even backfired: teaching the AI to recognize the trigger for its malicious actions and thus cover up its unsafe behavior during training.” https://lnkd.in/eRUDFcky "A whole A.I. dream-house economy has materialized. Search Pinterest for décor inspiration, and you’ll find it clogged with artificial bedrooms that lead off to websites hawking cheap home accessories. “House porn” accounts on TikTok and X churn out antiseptic loft renderings and impossible views from nonexistent Parisian apartments." https://lnkd.in/eMntGWKd Rhyming AI-powered clock sometimes lies about the time, makes up words https://lnkd.in/egq4Pxuk
