Do you know there are some 3,120,000 black owned businesses in the US on the internet? And if you search for Black Owned Business Groups, you’ll find there are 15,700,000 in the US?      No matter the size, location, or how many groups someone belongs to, the goal is the same, support Black Owned Businesses.      At One Source Direct, while we support businesses, our focus is on businesses with less than 50 employees. It’s our belief that all businesses, regardless of size, should compete equally for LEADs, including minority owned businesses like Black Owned Businesses.     Unlike other platforms, you don’t need to be part of a group, or use hashtags, to find Black Owned Businesses. Our approach is much simpler, we call it Specialty Ownership.     In the Specialty Ownership section of the NEED request, users can select Black Owned Businesses. In doing so, when they submit their request, it will be sent only to Black Owned Businesses offering the product/service and that services the area.     To find a black owned insurance agency near me, I go to the NEED request, select Insurance/Benefit (Specialty), select Black Owned Business (Specialty Ownership), complete the other sections, and submit. It was so cool to help compile this timeline in honor of Insurance Journal's 100-year anniversary! I learned so much, and believe it or not, insurance history is pretty interesting - does that make me an official insurance nerd?🤓 A few fun facts from the timeline: 💡In 1956 Black insurance agent Theodore Martin Alexander arranged for Lloyd's to cover auto policies of black drivers' driving carpools during Montgomery, Ala., bus boycott. 💡In 1983 U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of automobile insurance industry in lawsuit against the federal government for rescinding the requirement that new cars be equipped with airbags or automatic seat belts. 💡In 1997 Progressive Insurance became the first insurer to enable policyholders to quote and buy auto insurance online.
