Let’s stop acting like carbon removal is optional, it's not. Carbon removal has a messaging problem. AirMiner Jack Sullivan is out to change that. Reply here to get in touch or DM Jack on AirMiners Slack.
Trees emit CO2, but they don’t have a messaging problem. We need to view our energy system the same way: what matters is that we remove more CO2 than we emit. Carbon removal is crucial for achieving net zero and will be essential to reduce CO2 levels. While this might seem ambitious today, advancements in technology and the availability of low-cost renewable energy make it more attainable than ever.
Yes, onboard! What can we do? (I'll reach out to Jack directly as well)
Thank you for helping get the message out!
We must consider how the energy system will look in 20-30 years, not just today, especially when clean, abundant energy is available at very low prices. 1. Carbon Dioxide Removal and Renewable: Direct air capture (DAC) is an excellent fit for renewable energy since it can better handle the inconsistency of renewable power. An electrochemical DAC can be combined with a grid connection to improve efficiency even further. 2. Cost Reduction through Integration: Combining point source capture with direct air capture can reduce the cost of point source capture to below $20 per ton. I wrote a few articles on the topics, and it would be great to have your feedback. https://medium.com/@yehudaboren/electrochemical-carbon-capture-harnessing-6-gigatonnes-of-co2-reduction-from-existing-electricity-af55c728d4d7 https://medium.com/@yehudaboren/point-source-carbon-capture-for-less-than-20-per-ton-2c28df3de8d3 https://medium.com/@yehudaboren/accelerate-decarbonization-by-using-renewables-for-carbon-removal-first-b8f2672194cf
Well said Tito - very happy to support wherever possible
Every message like this has been wrong since the 1960's, (going to run out of oil in 10 yrs, were destroying the ozone etc, etc. The, so called, "experts" have always got it wrong. Why should we believe them now?
We should chat! Lots has changed since our last conversation.
Tito - thanks for posting this & also for all you do. Would love to connect w/ Jack Sullivan re: messaging.
Totally agree, thanks much and happy to contribute!
