More than a fifth of UK CEOs believe that unless changes are made, their business will not be economically viable in 10 years’ time. Globally, that figure is 45%. Try searching 'AI creative debate' on most platforms and there are some fantastic Adland debates wondering what role #CreativeAI will, or will not, play in creative ideation and execution. While that debate purrs on I thought i'd take a read of the recently published #KPMG CEO Outlook Pulse Survey report which says: "CEOs see GenAl as central to gaining a competitive advantage and are working to rapidly advance deployment of the technology across their enterprises in a responsible way....39% plan to scale initiatives from pilot to industrialized phase....41% planning to increase their #GenAI investment".

CEOs expect more pressure over the next three years than they experienced over the previous five from technology, climate change, and nearly every other megatrend affecting global business. 60% of CEOs expect #generativeai to create efficiency benefits to help relieve some routine burdens like decision-making meetings to emails. Four in ten CEOs report that they have accepted lower hurdle rates for #climatefriendly investments. Two-thirds of CEOs report a reallocation of resources (financial and human) of 20% or less year to year. CEOs are twice as likely to expect the global economy to improve this year compared to last year PwC research finds that top companies focus not only on their business model but also on the operating and technology models that enable it—and they do so continuously, addressing mindset change and management challenges involved. Among other survival options, experts at PwC suggest companies need to focus on what it does best and invest in service partnerships to close operating-model capability gaps and keep pace with technology advancements. The good news is the reward for getting it right is also huge: winning companies capture a performance premium, measured as the combined effect of profit margin and revenue growth, adjusted by industry, worth more than 13 times that of their peers.
