A new white paper written by industry expert Adrian Tolson of 2050 Marine Energy and sponsored by TFG Marine argues that the global adoption of calibrated mass flow meters (MFMs) will bring ‘much-needed transparency to bunkering by generating accurate, real-time data for all stakeholders along the marine fuel supply chain’. https://lnkd.in/gxbtiW9v

Presently, Tami Copeland and others on my Tyler team are updating registrations of oil and gas production sites as Critical Infrastructure under 16 TAC 3.65. This important process helps ensure communication between producers, state regulators, and power providers. In 2003, the ERCOT grid covering most of Texas hit a peak demand of just over 60,000 MW. In the past month, we have hit a peak demand over 80,000 MW. During that time, our population has climbed from roughly 22 million people to 31 million people. Working some rough math, over the last 20 years, both our peak grid demand and population have increased about 41%. One of the things that is critical to help keep the lights on is the contribution of domestically produced natural gas. As I write this, about 70% of the current grid power is coming from natural gas. I am an "all of the above" guy when it comes to energy, as plentiful energy helps increase the standard of living for all. For an education on the mix of power in Texas, I encourage you to check out the ERCOT dashboard, taking a peak when you start your work day, at lunch, after work, and before bed.
