Today, I had the pleasure of attending an impactful event organized by Framtiden i våre hender focused on political measures that could reduce #emissions from our overconsumption. It was a valuable experience that provided deep insights into how the politicians can make it easier for us to live more #climate-friendly. Unfortunately, emissions in Norway are significantly higher than anticipated due to excessive consumption. We, as consumers, can contribute to emission reductions by altering small routines in our everyday lives and implementing more sustainable practices, like choosing train travel over flying whenever feasible (the night train to Copenhagen is a great option!). However, for these choices to be possible and relevant, the policymakers need to provide access to these alternatives within the community. Every small step towards stopping #overconsumption helps build a world where both present and future generations can thrive. Reducing overconsumption is not just about using less; it is about valuing the resources we have and making choices that benefit both people and the planet. A special thank you to the panelists for their enlightening presentations and engaging discussions. Aarhus to Become Climate Neutral by 2030! Together with other cities in the EU, Aarhus will now serve as a pilot city for innovative solutions in the area of energy planning, citizen inclusion and cross-disciplinary cooperation. The key goal is to become climate neutral by 2030, by increasing the pace of decarbonization. The project for which Aarhus has been given support is called CO-SHAPE (CO-SHaping Areas in Peri-urban Environments). The funds received are from the EU's Horizon Europe program.
