EOY is here... it's officially sandbag season. Looking at all those opps with 12/31close dates... In your manager's eyes, being a Q4 hero means closing deals early and consistently... and taking some pressure off the Dec grind. Surprise deals in Dec are always welcome, but operating from a position of power is much more advantageous. A few thoughts to help: - Ask your prospect to confirm their intent to close before EOY. If it helps, soften the ask by working back from launch or desired impact date, where a Q4 signature simply becomes part of the project timeline. - If your prospect confirms EOY close, ask what would need to happen to close sooner. Identifying obstacles here is more important than actually confirming an earlier date. - Ask whether the rest of the buying committee, particularly the DMs and finance, know this is coming. It’s very possible that your business stakeholders have not even brought it up with them yet. - Bonus/Optional: Once you have commitment, offer a relevant incentive to close even sooner. You already did the hard work of aligning on timing, now it's about fueling the fire. An additional product "give" tends to work very well here, especially something you know they want but decided to wait on. Hold off on material financial concessions unless the net deal value helps you hit a more valuable incentive. Good luck!
