Earlier this month a number of our leaders attended the annual Amazon Accelerate conference in Seattle.  On the first day, we were hosted by our Canadian team and given a tour of the Amazon headquarters The Spheres. The following days we attended insightful sessions at the conference and also had productive meetings with many Amazonians and subject matter experts from a variety of different functions. A successful Amazon Accelerate with Matthew Koski Taylar Allan and Samantha Evans We kicked off the week with a fabulous dinner at Canlis with 24 professionals in the Amazon space. Matthew Koski and I had the pleasure of doing the 5k with Jeffrey Cohen. I had the absolute joy of meeting Scott Ohsman and Mark Power in person for the first time. Amazon Is the Fifth Company in History to Join the Coveted $2 Trillion Tech Club Amazon hit $2 trillion in valuation on Wednesday, making it the fifth company to reach the mark. Amazon joins Alphabet (Google's parent company), Microsoft, Apple, and AI chip maker Nvidia in the coveted club. The news comes ahead of Amazon's highly-anticipated Prime Day, slated for July 16 and 17, which offers shoppers deals and bundles across many areas of retail products. Amazon was up around 4% by the end of the day Wednesday, marking a 52% increase in the last year. The online retail company had a stellar Q1 2024 with a 13% net increase year over year in sales reaching $143.3 billion, with a 12% increase in North American sales annually. "It was a good start to the year across the business, and you can see that in both our customer experience improvements and financial results," said Andy Jassy, Amazon President and CEO, in a company release. SEE YOU SOON AMAZONIANS!! 💙👽🤖 I couldn’t be more broken hearted than I’m right now sharing my decision to leave Amazon for now to embrace a new huge and exciting challenge in my career. The time I had working for Amazon made me grow so fast that I can hardly believe in everything that I’ve done in this short amount of time. I got Brazil’s Reliability, Maintenance and Engineering process from scratch and the goal was to develop, design and successfully run the process, for the whole country, 14 Delivery Stations all over Brazil’s territory! Wow, sounds huge! 😮 I made it and I feel proud about what I’ve done. The process is implemented, it has metrics and it works following the highest Amazon standards. 💙 Besides that, the thing I’ll miss more are my Amazonian people! Amazon peculiar way of work gets togheter the best people in the market, and so we are able to be peculiar and great, togheter.
