In recognition of his technical expertise and professional contributions, Senior Principal John Peronto has achieved the rare distinction of being a fellow of both the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and The Institution of Structural Engineers. “I am honored to be recognized by two leading organizations of our profession,” John said. An expert in the design of super and megatall towers and other complex structures, John has dozens of such projects to his credit, including serving as the lead engineer of Jeddah Tower, the world’s first one-kilometer-tall structure. He also serves as the chair of the American Society of Civil Engineers' Tall Buildings Committee. John, center, is pictured with Michael Paschalis of BESIX, left, and Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture’s Peter Weismantle last year at the Uptown Dubai site. Thornton Tomasetti is providing structural engineering services to AS+GG for the project’s two towers, at 340 and 711 meters tall, at the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre.
