Great 2024 kick-off last week at Intellectual Labs AS ! 🎉 Every person in the team represents a story of dedication, brilliance, and collaboration. Together, we're not just solving problems; we're shaping the future. Looking at 2023 in review we have nearly doubled the team - picture here shows the combined Intellectual Labs AS , PueroVita Biotechnology and FactoryMind teams with some missing - and launched 2 ventures from ideation to prototype and go-to-market. We have also seeded another two disruptive ventures that we are working to launch in 2024. 🚀 We are scientists, data professionals and company builders - on a mission to solve complex challenges with brilliant founders and dedicated investors. In 2024 we are pushing to create even better value for our ventures and investors, and perhaps to open up new chapters outside of Oslo. The one thing that is certain is that we will continue to push deep-tech innovation forward. Essential Capital, Valor Equity Partners, SNR, HOF Capital, 4P CAPITAL and Climate Capital join Merantix in an €8M Seed Round for our biotech venture Cambrium! I am deeply impressed how the founders Mitchell Duffy and Charlie Cotton, PhD as well as their team have led an incredible fundraise despite the current investor climate, and I think the result now speaks as a testament to what the team has been building: Using AI to design improved molecules that work in similar or improved ways to their ‘original’ counterparts, but can be made sustainably and at scale. With their round they have attracted high profile investors with deep industry expertise with Valor (Google DeepMind, Palantir Technologies, SpaceX) as well as Essential (Synonym, a16z Bio + Health) to name a few. This puts the company in the ideal trajectory for the future: The team has already produced and launched their first product, a vegan and sustainable collagen; and is now moving on to next materials which will be announced soon. Today is my last day at xista science ventures, and I am filled with immense gratitude for the incredible experiences I've had during the two years as a VC investor. 🌱 I lived my dream in supporting scientists, founders, and start-ups who bring science out of the lab and into solutions for human and planetary health and more. 🌍🚀 Delving into the world of deep-tech and climate-tech gave me a deeper appreciation for the power of start-ups and venture capital, as well as the challenges and opportunities they face. I cannot thank the exceptional team at xista science ventures enough for giving me this opportunity to work alongside such talented individuals in our team as well as for their camaraderie and support.
