Thomas Luk - Management Consultant and China Expert’s Post

I NEED YOUR HELP !!! Our son William 2,5 years has strong development deficiencies and autism signals. He needs urgent early intervention therapy to learn speech and other capability steps before he turns 3 years old. Estimated time to start therapy in Germany is 3-4 years (waiting for diagnostic and therapy availability). This is too late for William.    Could you please: 1) Repost with a personal note for reach 2) Please let me know if you can provide early intervention therapy for small kids or have a close contact who can in Germany (ideally Southern Germany, but flexible) 3) Please let me know if you could help with diagnostic, not for us but for the official requirements. #TEAMWILLIAM (dear friends and supporters), many thanks for your support and words of encouragement. We have now with your amazing support scheduled initial diagnostic appointments. THANK YOU! Still the therapy intensity we are looking for is not even close to be available in Germany. It is really a struggle to find the right level of expertise, capacity to support William on his journey. (3-5 classes per day) We as parents are currently trying to cover, however we fail often and we are clear that we cannot replace the support from experts in an intensive schedule. So we are now racing to get the diagnostics done but then we will have to evaluate whether we can make it work in Germany or not. Again #TEAMWILLIAM, many many thanks, we appreciate all your support during these difficult times. Thomas

Hello Thomas, I am not sure if I can help you. I asked a family member who knows where you can go to get a diagnosis for your lovely son. Unfortunately, it takes a couple of months to start with the diagnosis process (around 3-4 months) and then I cannot tell you how long you need to wait until the start of a therapy. Also, this would be in Würzburg (around 175km from Stuttgart). I could imagine that you get a diagnosis here in Würzburg (I can give you an address) and then search for treatment in your area. If you think that can help you, I am happy to have a chat or phone call with you. Just let me know. Otherwise, good luck!

I totally feel you! We went through a similar situation - What helped us: using the list of available doctors offices here: https://arztsuche.116117.de/ and just keep calling all in 50km (?) radius once per week to ask if anyone cancelled and an appointment opened. For very young kids the "Frühförderstellen" are also great to start with something but ours here also has a longer waiting time. Good luck 🍀
