We wake up this morning to a new party in power. The Labour Party has secured a landslide victory and majority in the UK General Election.. As a high-growth #martech business with substantial operations in the UK, who is leading the country and how they plan to implement change important. We’re keen to see how the industry is responding to the news 👀 The Drum has done a great job in summarising how the UK #marketing industry has reacted. Main take-aways? 👉 we welcome the “focus on pro-business environment” .. it time for a focus on #innovation and investment! 👉 IAB urges Labour to rethink the regulation around digital #advertising. 👉 ISBA is calling for clarity on food & #drink advertising regulations and appealed for clarity on HFSS introduced by the Conservatives. “The UK’s system of self-regulation of content and placement has proven to be a world-leading success story. We ask the Government to continue to support this.” 👉 advertising remains a key growth-starter, significant business opportunity and creates thousands of jobs across the country. 👉 2025 is set to be a huge year of change for food & drink businesses, with a new focus on #sustainability and helping customers make better choices for their personal health. The remainder of this year is therefore going to be vitally important to ensure smooth implementation and prepare internally for #compliance (something we’re pretty good at 💅 😊) Either way; as we enter a new political landscape, creating the conditions for responsibile, sustainable business growth remains a top priority 👏🏾 and something we can definitely get behind at hyble. You can't fatten the pig on market day. John Howard was talking about the fact that it's years of hard work, consistency and delivering good government that wins elections. Not late-in-the-day pledges, gimmicks, or stunts. And as John Howard meant with elections, it applies to marketing too. I've been there – scrambling to hit that end of quarter target, trying to increase a certain metric before a board meeting, throwing tactics at the wall hoping something sticks. But that short-term mentality hinders long-term success. The lesson I’ve learnt is quite simple. Consistent effort builds brands. So, ditch the scramble. Focus on building a consistent marketing approach that fuels your brand and fattens it up for the long haul.
