I bet you never think like this about your work!! Especially for Architects and Interior Designers!! Designing Isn't Just About Aesthetics, It's About Conveying Value! A well-designed space isn't just pleasing to the eye, it also speaks volumes about its value. Surprising? It shouldn't be. Does it feel like your clients fail to appreciate the strategic value of your designs? Tired of your work being reduced to just 'pretty pictures'? Here's the truth: As architects and designers, our work goes beyond aesthetics. We shape experiences, influence emotions, and yes, communicate value. Let's look at 3 ways our designs deliver value!! 😵 😎 Enhancing User Experience: A well-designed space goes beyond beauty. It considers the natural flow of human movement, the need for comfort, the impact of light and space on mood, and even the subtleties of color psychology. This all adds up to creating environments that boost productivity, improve mood, and can positively impact health. 😎 Boosting Property Value: Great design doesn't just look good - it also adds tangible monetary value. Thoughtful design, quality materials, and forward-thinking features can significantly increase a property's market value. This is why design should never be seen as a cost but as an investment. 😎 Creating Brand Image: For businesses, the design of their space is a physical manifestation of their brand. It communicates its brand values, ethos, and identity to its customers. A well-designed business space is a powerful marketing tool that helps to build trust and connections with customers. Realized what value you really bring to someone's home? The problem is we never think like this and that's where we undermine our value and our work. Now rethink your business, and start charging for the value you bring in!! What do you think? Do you agree or disagree, Would love to know from you!! Your Business Growth Partner Goyaam Jain P.S. "With the advent of more sophisticated tools available to clients and end-users via social media sites such as Pinterest, and now, AI apps such as Midjourney, I’ve been giving some thought to the value that architects and interior designers bring to projects. The fact is, what people used to rely on us for as a profession has changed. For example, a friend recently renovated her apartment without the help of an architect or interior designer. She directed the design entirely through sharing Pinterest images with her contractor, who rendered some quick 3D visualisations, which she approved and he executed. And it’s a nice apartment - it was a budget renovation, but it looks cozy and comfortable. It’s a lot of work, but technology has made it easier for home-owners to get their dream home with or without a design professional involved." Are design professionals still relevant in the age of DIY renovations and AI apps like midjourney? We think so! Look what our principal architect Shreya Krishnan has to say about it in our latest blog post: https://lnkd.in/gftcqCKw #design #architecture #technology

Trend Alert📢📢 Trend of the Week by Esther Meijers 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝘃𝗮𝗻 𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 Design is a constantly evolving field, and as technology changes, designers must adapt their designs to meet the needs of today. Design is a broad concept, but there are indeed trends to be found in specific themes. 𝗘𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 Designing meaningfully and sharing research will not only impact innovation and the technology of design but is also becoming increasingly important for designers and society. Modem shares research papers focused on the impact of digitization on our lives: https://loom.ly/i-7JeA8 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗻 (𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁) 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 It's sometimes hard to track where the money flows. Who creates and spends our money? Where does it all go? And why doesn't the financial system work for everyone? In 'the waterworks of money,' cartographer Carlijn Kingma, in collaboration with journalists, researchers, and economists, makes this flow visible! Check it out for yourself: https://loom.ly/lopoeHk 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 Design is about experimenting, especially in the digital world. For example, you now see many famous people promoting their yearbooks on TikTok (you can also try this on the EPIK app) https://loom.ly/ihyK4JE . How can digital content become spatial material? You can already see this happening with AI content as interior design in stores. Will this be your new wallpaper? https://loom.ly/Kl0NOMQ PS. Many of these trends can also be spotted at Dutch Design Week. Which design trends do you find cool? #yearbook #designtrends #design #trends #ethicaldesign #impactlives #experimentaldesign

After eight years of running my own practice, my ideas about the value that a design professional brings to the table have evolved. I definitely started with the notion that designers Design with a capital D, but often, a huge value add that design professionals bring relies on softer skills like asking the right questions and active listening, especially in light of how our skills hold up against disruptive technology. My latest blog post talks a bit about the value brought by design professionals to projects in the age of AI and Pinterest.
