Are you all coming to Bellefontaine, Ohio??? Lol Doing social activities and food is always a nice gesture, and does help boost your employees morale. Sometimes it is just because you do appreciate their hard work. No goal has been met, no award has been given. You just say we appreciate all you do, no other reason. Plus in a relaxed setting people (we) are more inclined to speak about things that are important to the workers as well as beneficial to the work environment. Ordinarily no one has the time, nor is anyone "relaxed", if you are doing your job defensively. Which the new award /clothing thing is nice....however.... many times we have earned things have been told what we did was amazing😊and then you forget😕 Bravo .👍 Glad to see fellow HBDers enjoying themselves. Stay cool peeps it is like a sauna here in good old Ohio. Tomorrow it could be in the 60's😂🤣. Seriously. Michele Steggeman Shipping Bellefontaine plant.
2024-05-24 AsSalam... Breaking the Cycle of Same Old Thinking, Same Old Results. "But we've always done it this way!"...must be a very familiar phrase.
Thank you, Dr. Travis Bradberry, for this insightful reminder. This mindset traps us in a loop of repetitive thinking and results. It's time to break free and embrace change for true transformation.
I can also share a bit about the Results Pyramid Model from "Change the Culture, Change the Game" by Roger Connors and Tom Smith, that perfectly illustrates this concept. Our beliefs drive our actions, which in turn produce our results. To achieve different outcomes, we must start by changing our beliefs and thinking patterns.
Steps to Break the Cycle:
1.Challenge Existing Beliefs: Question the status quo and be open to new perspectives.
2. Adopt New Mindsets: Embrace innovation and continuous improvement.
3. Take Action: Implement changes that align with the new beliefs and mindsets.
4. Evaluate Results: Assess the outcomes and refine the process.
By transforming our thinking, we can unlock new possibilities and drive significant improvements in our projects and organizations.

One of the advantages to staying in a place for an extended period of time is when someone thinks an idea is "new", but it isn't, you have the wisdom to help make that idea a better success than the times it was tried before. You also have the wisdom to prevent an idea from being implemented with negative consequences. Most people exercise ideas they learned from experiences with others, or ideas they saw someone else implement. Smart individuals know this, so they know when to tinker and how much they should, but also when to accept Murphy's Law. There's something to be said for wisdom and experience, which can sometimes be forgotten when chasing diplomas and shiny portfolio's.
I cringe whenever I see job roles looking like a bowl of fruit salad with every imaginable fruit in it.
Because experience shows that even if you find someone who can do all that, they are average at best and will do just exactly what your competitors are doing.
How then do you have a radical differentiation and positioning as an X brand in a sea of several O brands like yours?
Specialisation is key for every job role to be a success.
This is why you have consultants in medicine and lawyers specialising in certain areas of the law rather than just trying to do everything and become average.
