Recalling the Golden words said by Nirankari Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj that “Pollution inside or outside both are dangerous “which becomes the motivating force for Sant Nirankari Mission and for its involvement in various socio charitable activities for many years. These activities includes Mega Tree plantation drives, blood donation camps, Cleanliness drives, water conservation projects, awareness campaigns about the environmental issues and the list is endless. In the month of August, 2021, with the blessings of Satguru Mata Sudiksha ji Maharaj, Sant Nirankari Mission launched a Mega Project on Environment protection called “Oneness Vann “ which includes planting of micro “Cluster of Trees “, which were to be maintained for next three years. Almost 317 sites were identified as Pan India and the plantations were done with a plantation of 1.30 lakhs saplings. After the successful launch of first phase in 2021, with the blessings Satuguru Mata ji, this project continued in the second phase also in the year 2022 resulting in the development of more “Oneness Vann “, sites Pan India, bringing the total number to 403 sites with 1.65 lakhs trees planted and maintained. Good conservation news!  Against all odds, deforestation in Madagascar’s Menabe Antimena is coming to a halt. Efforts to preserve the rich biodiversity of Menabe Antimena have made remarkable progress. Thanks to strict protections put in place by Fanamby, annual deforestation rates dropped from over 6.5% to just 0.1% this year— the lowest ever. This victory showcases the power of collective, community-based action and commitment to protecting our planet's natural treasures. Mohammed was a good friend of my dear beloved, great friend Hassan who unfortunately died of Covid. He has a company that sells Boswellia carteri 1 st grade Boswellia carteri essential oil and resins that come from Puntland which is a part of the Federal State of Somalia. Because of his association with my dear friend, who I really miss, I have decided to help him sell his beautiful. Boswellia carteri essential oil and resin. Most companies distill second grade because while it might smell similar, second grade is with the bark and the percentage of alpa pinene is way lower than when distilling first grade which is totally without the bark and cleaner. When it is with the bark the percentage is in the 30s% alpa pinene, when you distill without the bark percentage goes into the 50s% which is what theirs are. Their products are organically harvested also. One of the owners of the company is the chairman of the seven-member committee who have been appointed by the local Puntland state government, tribal leaders, and farm owners to put a stop to the harvesting of the bark incorrectly as this is the main cause of the dying trees. Their goal for the end of 2023 is to manufacture Frankincense Incense sticks from the Frankincense by-product. The by-products such as Bark and Husk are exported to Ethiopia where they manufacture Frankincense Incense sticks and ship worldwide. If the production of the incense sticks is done at home in Somalia, then this will have the following benefits: 1: Jobs will be created for women in poverty. (Women empowerment) 2: A rise in economy in cities such as Bosaso, Puntland where most of the worlds Frankincense resin is shipped from and sorted. 3: The company will use 50% of the profit earnings generated from the sales of the Frankincense Incense sticks to fund sustainability and charity programs, buy safety equipment tools for the harvesters, fund the livelihood of harvesters who give a break to harvesting their Frankincense trees and create water supply systems for the harvesting communities. These are some of the reasons I decided to help them source the oil and resin. THEY ARE GIVING BACK AND HELPING THEIR COUNTRY. As most of you know I will only work with those companies who endorse sustainability and are trustworthy. To add to the aromatherapy community, they are donating with my help, 250 small samples of essential oil and resin to go into the goody bags for the NAHA conference in the end of September of this year. I am also giving 10% off all products in my store as an added bonus, which will be on a card inserted into the package that will go i to the goody bags. #sustainabilitythursday News from our beekeeping project in the Mara! We're thrilled to announce the arrival of 10 kgs of pure honey, harvested sustainably from our thriving hives. This golden goodness, carefully packed into 20 500-gram jars, comes straight from the diligent work of Orkarkar, one of nine self-help groups championing honey production around the Ol Kinyei Conservancy. Thanks to the generous support of Gamewatchers Safaris, Porini Camps, and the WWF-Kenya, this initiative is buzzing with success. Back in 2021, the WWF's donation of 100 beehives, metallic stands, honey processors, chain-link fencing materials, bee catchers, and harvesting suits empowered youth and women, fostering conservation awareness while creating alternative livelihoods. Not only does this project provide economic opportunities for local communities, but it also plays a crucial role in conserving bee populations, thus enhancing the sustainability of the conservancy itself. But that's not all! Similar endeavors are underway in communities surrounding the Selenkay Conservancy.
