I’m thrilled to share my journey!!!
Walking from Canary Wharf to Heron Quays Station for my summer job, I often found myself staring at the JP Morgan building. Being an enthusiast of the corporate world this fuelled my dream to become a chartered accountant, I was aware that every dream has to begin somewhere.
Returning to university, I decided to purse a placement year as part of my accounting and finance degree.
Eager to know more about JPMorgan, I applied for their Global Finance and Management Analysis program.
I was so Delighted to be accepted to attend the program on November 9th, the experience exceeded my expectations, revealing that the company's outward image matched its internal image.
Listening to Patel Smir and Richard Tsung, I gained valuable insights not only about the business world but also about life. This program taught me that failure is a crucial part of learning, emphasizing that true growth extends beyond work experience.
It provided more than just an insight to how JP Morgan Chase is like instead it offered an understanding of skills across various sectors. The importance of punctuality, dedication, communication and going the extra mile became evident, and the significance of preparation and cultural adaptability.
When Richard Tsung Said “While technical skills are teachable, ethics and good manners can’t be taught especially”. This was an excellent comment because these are characteristics that cannot be taught, especially not in the workplace.
Learning to combat nervousness and recognizing experience as a valuable asset were pivotal takeaways.
Special thanks to Patel Smir, Richard Tsung and CeCe Azar for their mentorship and contributions to this transformative journey. An internship, I learned, goes beyond a mere CV addition, it’s a profound life experience. Grateful for the impactful lessons I gained during this program, shaping my mindset and offering insights into the corporate world.
