Surge protection installation best practices ⚡️ Installers frequently ask us about the “three-foot rule” and whether it’s necessary. And yesterday wasn’t any different! This question came up at the ADI Global Distribution Tampa expo and DITEK class with Cheryl Klein. The answer is… yes! Three feet of wire is needed between a surge protector and the protected equipment. This allows the surge protective device (SPD) to effectively divert surge energy to ground.
