This post will trigger many and I’m not apologizing. One thing I know for sure is it’s easier to stay silent. It’s easier to hide. But I also know leadership is about owning your truth even in uncomfortable times. Anger, hatred and violence will never yield a positive outcome. ❌ Leading with love, kindness and courage will always be the answer. 🙏🏻 Instead of focusing so much on the candidates what if today we focused on being the change we want to see in our world, our community and our families. There are a lot more of us than there are of them. Be the change we want to see 🙏🏻 We can make a difference. Be the light. Allow me to reintroduce myself 🔥 I’m Heather Monahan and I started at the Bottom in Worcester- que Drake 🎵 I became an equity partner at age 25 and moved to Saginaw Michigan to acquire and run our $25M company. 👱🏻♀️ I sold it for $55M two and a half years later. 💰 I pitched myself for a job that didn’t exist at a publicly traded radio company. 🤓 I was awarded the position and promoted 3X eventually shattering the glass ceiling as the CRO 🥳 At the end of 2017 I was named one of the Most Influential Women in Radio, 3 weeks later I was fired when the CEO became ill and elevated his daughter to replace him. 😳 I posted that I had been fired 🔥 That landed me on the Elvis Duran Show. No matter how confident you are, there will be times in your life when you get rattled. When you face a problem, a person, or a situation that discourages you. 😨 At 43 I was fired from my CRO position. I felt lost and my confidence took a massive hit. But I remembered, my confidence is my currency! 💸 I rebuilt mine by reaching out to people, leaning on my support network, and looking within myself to rediscover my strengths. There’s an old statistic that says women say 20,000 words per day while men only say 7,000. 🤔 Here are the facts: 🔍 That statistic was proven to have no scientific basis and was debunked by Professor Mark Liberman. 📊 According to an analysis of 43 separate studies, "Men were more likely than women to talk over others — especially in intrusive ways that silenced the rest of the room and demonstrated their dominance." And yet, women still apologize for speaking up or speaking their mind. 🤐 Well, I’m here to convince you to NOT let what others think STOP you! 🫵 When I decided to write my first book so many people told me to go back to sales leadership and stay in the lane where I had found success. Here’s what I know:  👉 That is about them and not about us. You can be bold. You can be creative. You can be confident. You can be an author. You can be a speaker. You can be a mother. You can have it all and you don’t have to apologize. Start focusing on what you can do to make things right instead of focusing on what is going wrong.   Next time you see someone being silenced, try something called… ✨ Amplifying ✨ Amplifying is when women in meetings or discussions actively support each other by repeating key points made by other women and giving credit to the original speaker. For example, if your colleague makes a great point, you can say, “I really liked [Colleague's Name]’s idea about [reiterating the idea].” This not only highlights the idea but also reinforces that it was her contribution. 🚀 It’s time to amplify your voice and the voices around you! 💬👏 I can teach you how to do it!
