Networking, building productive partnerships, and being able to influence local and national issues are just some of the reasons to join a member organisation. Chambers of Commerce, other business or sector organisations, as well as regional leadership groups, are invaluable. They can help start-ups or established companies, whether city-based or rural, navigate today’s challenging environment. They can give you a more powerful voice, help you access key networks, and provide a supportive community. Kinnoull Communications understands the impact that trade, business and other partnership bodies can have, which is why we are a member of Perthshire Chamber of Commerce. But you can't expect member organisations to provide a complete bespoke solution. They are most effective at focusing on big picture issues which affect the majority. That means you need other options in your armoury to deliver targeted objectives specific to your own individual business. Having a tailored communications strategy for your business or organisation can complement and amplify the efforts of your member organisation. It can enhance your profile, build better relationships with decision-makers, partners and local communities, and protect your hard-earned reputation. Kinnoull Communications specialises in providing small and medium-sized businesses and organisations with simple, practical and cost-effective communications solutions. Our approach is built on communications as a conversation, building connections, and developing lasting partnerships with real impact and results. We offer clients perspective, an understanding of the big picture, and how their objectives fit into the wider context. Better conversations. Positive partnerships. Smarter impacts. To find out more about how we can help or schedule a no-obligation discussion about individual, short-term or extended projects, get in touch at info@kinnoullcommunications.com. Dr. Denis FCG, FGNZ, FCG, FGNZ, will present at the next Canterbury Branch event, which you are invited to attend if you live in Canterbury. https://lnkd.in/didN4ESz The presentation will take the form of a discussion, touching on key topics: * How organisational culture protects and generates value for organisations (NFP and Corporate). * There are many influencers on culture, both internal and external. What/who are they? * Align personal and colleague accounts with values to drive cultural change. * What is the reality of the culture of org performance, both good and bad? Denis is a specialist advisor and part-time academic working in the corporate and not-for-profit sectors. His area of specialist expertise is behavioural governance. His ground-breaking PhD research identified that while compliance and regulation are important, it is the combination of behavioural characteristics and attributes existing within and between the board and executive, operating as a ‘Third Team’, which allows the board to influence the executive, who in turn impacts organisational performance. His work with boards is highly regarded, and he sees himself working frequently, both locally and internationally, with government, corporate, and not-for-profit organisations. It is a must-attend event. See you there!

An excellent post for nonprofit leaders. (And his book is very good reading!)
Author, The CEO and the Board: The Art of Nonprofit Governance as a Competitive Advantage; Founder/Principal, CEO-Board Services
GOOD GOVERNANCE AS AN EFFECTIVE GROWTH STRATEGY - Most nonprofit boards and leadership teams typically don’t consider how good governance can be an effective growth strategy. However, the research is clear that there is a direct correlation between good governance and increased growth, enhanced financial stability, and missional impact. Here are just a few of the findings: Clarity of strategy leads to successful growth opportunities as well as the ability to say no. Having diverse perspectives sitting around the board and leadership table will lead to better decisions and performance. Creating a boardroom culture of trust and integrity will reduce friction and increase efficiency. Intentional succession planning leads to long term growth. Intentionally recruiting the right board members leads to developing new key stakeholder relationships. Holding each other accountable leads to better performance. These are just a few of the many positive results of intentionally implementing an effective governance model that is right for your organization. This is why good governance matters and deserves your valuable time and attention. KurtSenske.com
