At my lowest point, two untrained, unregulated advocates interfered via social media, paralysing the joint constabulary open investigation." Great to hear you talking about the physiological differences between baby suckling and how pumps traditionally work on the recent podcast: "The Research Evidence Informing Current Breast Pump Technology" with the Institute for the Advancement of Breastfeeding and Lactation Education. Best wishes for your work.
Breast pumps suck… Literally. Many fundamental issues like pain and ineffectiveness are rooted in the fact that they ignore the natural trigger of suckling. It’s a huge issue because millions of mothers and babies rely on pumps. I am very excited to launch our fundraiser for the Calla pump, which mimics the infant’s suckling action. Come check us out and help spread the word. https://lnkd.in/daMFCv6G

Real good to be back at D&AD HQ yesterday for the Annual Trend Report review. The report itself produced alongside The Thought Partnership. Superb work from Donal Keenan on the floor, as always, and great to have some time with my former D&AD colleagues (and total legends) Dara Lynch, Victoria Foster, Paul Drake, Alex Knapp. Find the report here: https://lnkd.in/euxF_D_N Naturally, as we at The Futz Butler live and breath Music & Sound and the anti-obvious, it was amazing to see the "Heartbeat Drum Machine" included under the theme Ownable Iconicity. A beautiful piece of work in the Product Design category getting the ultimate D&AD accolade, the Black Pencil. Check it out: https://lnkd.in/eGS2sPF7 HEARTBEAT DRUM MACHINE created by Abby.World / Love Hultén "The Swedish Heartchild Foundation is a small non-profit supporting children and families affected by congenital heart disease. CHD–4 was designed to raise awareness and donations. Created with the help of audiovisual artist Love Hultén, the drum machine was built based on the heartbeats of four children with different heart defects, as though the machine itself had arrhythmia. Each ECG was decoded into a sequencer, enabling the user to play and create music with the children’s heartbeats. It put the problem in the hands of potential donors and made it possible for anyone to experience what happens when small hearts break."

My Concussion Legacy Foundation (CLF) fundraiser is building momentum! Thanks to my friends and family who have donated so far. But we still have some time left! My family is supporting CLF for a few of reasons: First, we want youth sports to be safe for our kids. That’s something I would hope we all can get behind. Second, there are way too many ex-athletes of all ages who are suffering from symptoms of CTE. The free CLF HelpLine provides personalized support to those struggling with the outcomes of brain injury including concussions, post-concussion syndrome, and suspected CTE. Offering medical and educational resources, 1:1 peer support, and peer support groups, this interactive community provides patients and caregivers an inclusive, safe setting to recover together. So far, 6,000 families have benefitted from the CLF HelpLine, and with your help, we can grow this unique, vital, and FREE resource that changes lives. Finally, as we approach Memorial Day, we do this to support our veterans. We all know about some of the struggles that our veterans face after serving our country. What is new is the number of veterans that are discovered to have signs of CTE. Our military veterans and their families deserve to get resources they need to deal with the effects of brain trauma. CLF’s Project Enlist is designed to get those families the answers and the help they need. Please consider making a donation today at https://lnkd.in/eVRzhuUV.

In honor of #NationalTattooDay, here's what you need to know about tattoos + blood donation. 1) There's no waiting period in most states, including Missouri and Arkansas if you got a tattoo in a state-reg facility with fresh ink & needles. 2) There are a handful of states that don't regulate tattoo facilities. In these states, there's a 3-month waiting period to donate blood: District of Columbia, Georgia, Idaho, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, Utah & Wyoming. 3) Questions about your eligibility to donate blood? Our eligibility specialists are available to help at 1-866-236-3276. Or you can find answers to common eligibility questions at rcblood.org/eligibility.
