🙌🏿 Our CEO Debra Healy was pleased to have been invited to attend and contribute to Pathway Fund’s Listening session last month at the Black Cultural Archives. 💥 It was thrilling to be in the room with other inspiring Black-led organisations focused on racial equality across different sectors and share insights and experiences on the work we each achieve within our communities. 📣 Pathway Fund plans to become a Black-led impact investment wholesaler to boost the entrepreneurial and social investment sector with further funding opportunities for Black and Minoritised led initiatives and we can’t wait to see this plan develop further. 🙌🏿 Together we reimagined what the future could look like for a Black-led wholesaler, and throughout the day we described our priorities and aims for a sustainable pathway fund that could provide long term support to organisations. 💥 Create Equity shares a similar vision to Pathway Fund in seeking to create racially equitable access to finance opportunities, so it is a privilege to collaborate in making our visions a reality. 🙏🏿 Many thanks to the organisers Dilys Kyeiwaa Winterkorn and Swati Pujari from Pathway Fund for organising, and to Dilhani Wijeyesekera for the expert facilitation. The Future of Philanthropy in Africa: A Masterclass in Impact! Just had the incredible opportunity to attend a social innovation masterclass on "The Future of Philanthropy in Africa." It was truly mind-blowing! Hearing from inspiring leaders like The Global Temilade Salami , Itofa Ivarah, and Tunde Onakoya was a wealth of knowledge. Their insights on strategic giving and innovative solutions for African challenges will stay with me for a long time. But there's one quote that really resonated: "We're born looking like our parents, but we die looking like our convictions." This powerful statement perfectly encapsulates the essence of impactful philanthropy. While our background shapes us, it's our convictions, our chosen path, that define our legacy. The future of philanthropy in Africa is about more than just money. It's about passion, purpose, and driving positive change. It's about individuals and organizations aligning their values with their giving to create a lasting impact. This masterclass reignited my passion for social good. I'm excited to see how I can leverage these learnings to make a difference in my community, nation and Africa as a whole especially in the Food and Agricultural industries. What about you? What are your convictions when it comes to social impact? Share your thoughts in the comments below! #SocialInnovation #PhilanthropyAfrica #TheFutureIsNow #MakingADifference

MehtaCognition pays it forward, and back... 📣 📣 📣 Announcing The Impact Fund for Independent School Leaders 🎇 🎉 🎆 Beginning this spring, MehtaCognition will financially sponsor leaders and educators in independent schools to avail themselves of any professional development they require to grow their leadership and elevate their influence and impact in their schools. This is not a trick... there's no catch! Towards the end of 2023, Nishant Mehta took a percentage of our net profits for the year and created a donor-advised fund whose sole purpose will be to identify and support individuals and teams in our schools who have dreams and aspirations for growth and impact, but lack the resources in their professional development budget to support them. There are plenty of such examples of philanthropies and foundations set up by corporations, CEOs, and company leaders. So why can’t we do the same for our schools and education? Beginning with the 2024-25 school year, MehtaCognition will share a percentage of its profits, annually, with the larger independent school industry to support and sustain the current and next generation of leaders who have the vision and talent but lack the dollars and opportunities. Driving the sustainability movement in Singapore through partnerships and funding. Exploring the nexus between AI and sustainability.
Sharing two new initiatives that help to foster and strengthen partnerships from the ground-up. 1. Singapore Government Partnerships Office (SGPO) SGPO was launched on 19 Jan to strengthen the government’s partnerships and engagements with citizens. It will serve as a first-stop to facilitate interactions between individuals/interest groups and the relevant government agencies, as well as connect them with resources to help turn ideas into action, especially those that cut across topics and address complex issues. https://www.sgpo.gov.sg/ 2. BAGUS (Building All Groundups for Success) Together BAGUS Together, launched on 18 Jan, is a tripartite collaboration between the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC), Temasek Foundation and Tote Board.
