Mothers’ Day and Fathers’ Day are widely celebrated but to the exclusion of non-binary parents. Parenting is often only recognized as roles held by mothers and fathers so these spaces can be particularly challenging for non-binary parents to navigate. Non-binary parents are valid and deserve to be seen. Let’s take time today to recognize and celebrate non-binary parents! Simply treat them the way they want to be treated (including names and pronouns) and let them know you love them unconditionally.” - the Family Guide to Supporting Young People’s Mental Health and Well-Being, developed by Project Cal-Well.
