Happy Independence Day to the United States of America!

As Pride Month comes to a close this year, we wanted to highlight a project that embodies the spirit of LGBTQIA+ allyship and promoting tolerance. Global Hybrid TechCamp Reconnect Nepal alumni, Priya Menon and Akin Babu Joseph, created a website called "Hues of Pride" to showcase untold stories from the LGBTQIA+ community in India. This was a continued engagement project from their TechCamp, but they were able to find a local organization in India to take on the website's management mission and continue expanding it with more stories, even though their grant has ended. On this World Refugee Day, we honor the many contributions of refugees to the communities where they reside. Cities, towns, and communities are stronger and more resilient because of them! Everyone deserves to feel safe and included in their communities. Let's work together on inclusive solutions that include refugees in workplaces, schools, healthcare systems and more. Let’s create hope away from home. TechCamp Bavaria in Tutzing seeks to address the goal of ensuring continued, close consultation and cooperation with Germany on countering Russian disinformation, including propaganda distorting the facts surrounding Russia’s unprovoked war against Ukraine. Happy Pride Month! Every June, we celebrate #PrideMonth, marking the anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising in 1969, when police raided a gay bar in New York City and its patrons stood up against discrimination, abuse, and mistreatment. Pride reminds us all of the spirit of democratic protest and the principle that every individual’s full humanity should be equally respected. This year, the U.S. Department of State celebrates Pride with the theme “Pride and Protection” to highlight the importance of protecting LGBTQI+ persons from harm, strengthening the work of LGBTQI+ advocates, and celebrating the spirit of Pride. #Pride2024 #LoveisLove #PrideMonth

In 2023, the TechCamp Program implemented nine TechCamps and reached more than 450 participants across all world regions. We're proud of the project ideas that our alumni created and implemented to make impacts in their communities and countries.
