Big news: We’ve launched the Save Destination Healthy Skin campaign, which aims to raise funds for the purchase of a new RV to keep DHS on the road and saving lives. This vital public health program cannot continue with a 14-year-old RV. Replacing the RV for our 2025 season will keep our free skin cancer screenings going strong for years to come. You can help, with a donation of any amount. The best part is that from now until August 17 every dollar donated to Save Destination Healthy Skin - up to $25,000 - will be matched by our lead sponsor, Massage Envy. This gives your donation double the impact. Double your impact $25 = $50 $50 = $100 $100 = $200 Every gift makes a difference in the fight against skin cancer. During this donation match challenge, your gift makes twice the difference. https://lnkd.in/eeHvtFAE

#AsdaTickledPink brings together Asda, CoppaFeel! and Breast Cancer Now to put breast cancer awareness on everyone’s list. This marks the 2nd year their joint campaign ‘The Real Self-Checkout’ to champion the notion that the most important checkout is one you do on yourself. This year they are asking the public to ‘look at breast cancer differently’, combining lenticular printed photographs in stores with an amazing group of individuals who have shared their personal stories to show that breast cancer can affect anyone. As a team, we know this all too well as our very own Debbie Sheridan is now 4 years clear! Donations to Tickled Pink can be made through the self-checkout machines in-store or by purchasing from the fabulous range of Tickled Pink products on sale in-store and online. Shop the likes of Asda and George at Asda's own products, or from a number of big-name brands like Warburtons, Diet Coke, and Heinz Beanz, who have all turned their classic household favourites pink! A percentage of these sales goes to CoppaFeel! and Breast Cancer Now to continue their life-saving work. Hi LinkedIn Family! October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Therefore, I wanted to share a video (attached) and 5 meaningful things we can do to honor and advocate for awareness. 1). Show your support to patients, such as listening to survivor’s stories, volunteer your time with charities that focus on patient support, provide makeup-classes, gas cards, and wigs, and/or donate to treatment plans and initiatives. 2). Participate in a run or walk or donate money to participating teams if you are unable to attend. 3). Donate clothing items such as scarves and hats to a local chemo center. 4). Educate yourself and others about cancer screenings and get a screening done for yourself. 5). Carve a pink pumpkin and/or wear pink clothing and ribbons! These are just a few ways we can participate in recognizing Breast Cancer Awareness Month, as there are many more. Thank you for taking the time to read this post and for your support during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Together, we can make a difference in raising awareness, promoting early detection, and supporting those affected by breast cancer. Let's continue to work together to create a world where breast cancer is no longer a threat!

Flying the flag for Breast Cancer Awareness Month 💗 A bit of a different post from me today but one that is very close to my heart after a very special friend lost her battle to breast cancer last month at the age of 34. About 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer over the course of their lives. We likely all know someone who has been affected by breast cancer. Early detection can be an important way to fight breast cancer, and getting checked regularly is key. Adult women of all ages are encouraged to perform breast self-exams at least once a month. How to perform a self check - 1) In the Shower With the pads/flats of your 3 middle fingers, check the entire breast and armpit area, pressing down with light, medium, and firm pressure. Check both breasts each month, feeling for any new lumps, thickenings, hardened knots, or any other breast changes. 2) In Front of a Mirror With your arms at your sides, visually inspect your breasts, looking for any changes in the contour or shape of the breasts, any dimpling, swelling, or other skin irregularities on or around the breasts, or any changes in the nipples. Next, rest your palms on your hips and press firmly to flex your chest muscles. Look for any dimpling, puckering, or other changes, particularly on one side. Note that the left and right breasts will not exactly match—few women’s breasts are perfectly symmetrical. It is never too early or late to book an appointment with your GP if you think there is something wrong or feels different. #getchecked I have attached a link to the Macmillan website for more information and a link to Kelly's donation page if you would like to donate, any donations will be greatly appreciated. 👼 💗 https://lnkd.in/erns9K-C https://lnkd.in/evwNPp5G

Breast Cancer Checking: Be Informed, Be Proactive! 💕 By knowing how to check your breasts and performing monthly breast self-exams, you will be able to more easily identify any changes in your breasts as soon as they occur. When checking your breasts for signs of breast cancer, look out for: 💕A change in size or shape of the breasts 💕A lump or thickening that feels different from the rest of the breast tissue 💕Redness of a rash on the skin and/or around the nipple 💕A change in skin texture such as puckering or dimpling 💕Discharge from the nipple without squeezing 💕Your nipple becoming inverted (pulled in) or changing its position or shape 💕Swelling in your armpit or around your collarbone 💕Constant pain in your breast or your armpit Remember! Not all breast cancers show as a lump, and not all breast lumps are signs of breast cancer. 💕What should I do if I find a change? Most changes in your breast will likely to be normal, but if you notice a changes or you must go and see your GP as soon as you can. Many people think that if they have breast cancer they will have other symptoms alongside a breast change (such as feeling tired, having less energy or losing weight) but this is not the case. If you do notice a change, it’s important to visit your GP. Join us for Breast Cancer Awareness Month The primary objective of this month-long campaign is to raise awareness about breast cancer, promote early detection, support those affected by the disease, and raise funds for research, prevention, and treatment. It serves as a reminder of the importance of regular breast examinations and mammograms to detect breast cancer at an early, more treatable stage. Participating in Breast Cancer Awareness Month can make a significant impact in the fight against breast cancer. Here are ways to get involved: Self-Exams: Perform regular breast self-exams to become familiar with your breasts and promptly report any changes to your healthcare provider. Clinical Exams: Schedule regular clinical breast exams with your healthcare provider, especially if you are over the age of 40. Mammograms: If you are of screening age, schedule and undergo regular mammograms as recommended by your healthcare provider. Donate: Contribute to breast cancer research, advocacy, and support organizations through donations. Participate in Fundraisers: Join or organize fundraisers, such as charity walks or runs, to support breast cancer-related causes. Wear Pink: Show your support by wearing pink ribbons, clothing, or accessories to raise awareness.
